Here is video of First Lady Michelle Obama giving a speech in which she talked about the importance of healthy nutrition habits as a family.

She said she could identify with mothers who work and then come home "to an empty refrigerator," and "kids who don't want to eat anything you have in mind." She said in those days, "drive-thru was like heaven" because you just wanted to "give them what they want" and have a peaceful meal.

But her perspective changed when their pediatrician urged her to change the family eating habits because the impact of the drive-thru food could be seen in the kids.

Michelle Obama urged the crowd to start small - to change things little by little to develop better eating habits. . . . (VIDEO)

It’s absolutely none of her business who goes where to order what from wherever. Where do they get the gall to be so pushy?

I have a feeling Michelle never made a meal in her life.

My wife/kids gave up fast food in Jan 08. It has saved us a ton of money...we don’t realize the cost of convenience.

If this is what it takes for her fans to quit eating garbage and start realizing the money savings, fantastic.

Bingo! One of the most unhealthy outcomes of fast-food is that families are no longer sitting down together! Of course the food isn’t good for your body, but not communicating with parents or children is disturbing.

Yeah butt she said in Vanity Fair she cant give up her burger and fries.

Oh wait she gets a five star Chef on staff to prepare those yummies.

She is an idiot.
She should have said take the kids to a fast food joint on occasion.

No she urged people to ban them.

Burger King/Mc Donanls next on the no more in America list?

If you are too selfish and lazy to make a home and a home life for your children, why have them?

i m a publik scewl teechur. Please believe me when I tell you that public schools require classes on proper nutrition. This is another reason why our scores are so low. We are teaching children how to eat, not the parents.

Also, I am married to Mr. Health and Fitness. Our grocery shopping takes hours. He reads and examines all labels, even food items that we regularly purchase (you never know when they might change the ingredients). Even with 99 cent burgers, it is still cheaper to purchase fresh food and make it at home.

I'm with you...I am a lot like your husband. Gym every day and a compulsive label reader :)

You are right...it IS cheaper to eat healthy, if you know what to buy. That is where the ignorance factor comes in.

I actually find it kind of surprising considering it isn't exactly rocket science.

The are fascists/liberals/maniacal control freaks.

Poor michelle. 300 grand with a do nothing job. Married to a goofus who got millions for a worthless book. These two dictator wannabe’s have never lived in the real world. It’s like the old joke, “Those who can’t, teach”. I can understand why obarky is skinny, his smoking kills his appetite, but michelle hasn’t missed a meal in a while. Sounds like more force coming our way because we just can’t figure out how to eat.

“I have a feeling Michelle never made a meal in her life.”

Judging from that bulge in the back of her pants, she’s been on the receiving “end” of many a meal.

Even though we are fortunate with our careers and incomes, we still buy inexpensive products. We get rice, dried beans, whole wheat flour and oats in bulk. I think that is what sets us apart from our peers. My husband and I are 32 and 30, yet we have accumulated more wealth than our peers. Most in our age group don’t invest enough and waste money on convenience items. Interestingly, I read a study (can’t remember who or where) that most wealthy people eat oatmeal for breakfast. It is fast, cheap and very healthy. Also, I make cookies for our son instead of buying pre-packaged snacks that have MSG and partially hydrogenated oils. If we can’t pronounce it, we don’t buy it.

I’m sorry, but I have to agree with Michelle here. There are way too many fat kids because working parents don’t have the time or inclination to cook for them. The kids then come home to hours of homework, video games and TV. Recess has been cut from schools and PE consists of more written work and theory then actual running!
This is a perfect cause for a first lady and much better then her getting involved in policy. I’m glad she might be influencing all the fatties out there in some small way. Good for her.
