Nearly 100 City of Miami employees made more than $200,000 last year
Miami had only recently shed its notorious distinction as the nations poorest municipality, thanks to the buoying effects of the real estate boom, just in time to get clobbered by the nationwide recession/depression rooted in the collapse of that very boom. Now the good times are over, and the city faces declining revenues across the board...
In calendar year 2008, a total of 97 city employees received more than $200,000 in compensation, costing taxpayers more than $22.76 million, according to documents prepared by the citys budget office and department of employee relations.
