Apparently Governor Palin's timely entry into the debate offended the sensibilities of Norman Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute. In an article in the Financial Times, Ornstein was asked to comment:
The dollar has always been a testosterone issue among Americas political classes, says Norm Ornstein, a veteran analyst at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. This time there may be a legitimate debate to be had over the dollars reserve status, but Sarah Palin is not qualified to participate in it.

The elites in the country (the political class), are in dire need of having their heads handed to them on a platter. Sara Palin has more sense than most of them.

I agree with the guys at C4P. It amazes me that elites think they are so important, that they scoff anyone with some common sense taking about their field.
Economics requires common sense. Some might want to complicate it with confusing theories, but at the end of the day it requires common sense.

Since the establishment of Air America Radio, Ornstein has performed the bit with a wide variety of questions on The Al Franken Show. He also appeared on the March 7, 2006; April 24, 2006 and January 10, 2008 episodes of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.
As Thomas Sowell said recently in a column, dumb people can only do so much damage. It takes really smart people to totally screw things up. (That is, people who think they are really smart.)

I guess I’m not qualified either. Of course, all these smartest people anyone ever saw or hoped to see are driving this nation straight onto the ash heap of history, so the opinion of ANY of these clowns hardly matters.
