Sinking in the polls, it is time to consider where Obama has gone wrong. In this column, I review Obamas 5 Biggest Political Miscalculations. Next week I shall cover his Biggest Policy Mistakes. So, from Bad to Worse, lets begin . . . .
5. Whats a Few Czars Between Friends? Actually, when it comes to Congress the answer can be a lot. Yes it is true, as Glenn Beck has described, Obamas Czars are a rather savory bunch for which Van Jones was just the tip of the iceberg. The Political Miscalculation here, however, is not his Far Left bureaucrats. The issue here is that he is broadening the powers of the Executive Branch. Such Imperial Presidential power grabs (no the Media wont use those terms) does not play well even for Democrats in Congress who rightly view such actions as an encroachment on Congressional power. Touching off a civil war among your own, even if a minor war, is the type of unforced miscalculation that slows a Presidents progress on key legislation.

1. Selling myself as “black.”
1. Getting elected.
Link doesn’t work for me. Just a bunch of swirling tadpoles.
Guess he didn't think of that.
I hit my screen with the flyswatter a few times before I realized what they were.
Same here.

The link should be http://www.politicalvanguard.com/publisher64.html.
But that might not help. The site is a nightmare of Flash stuff that look mostly broken. If you are on a dialup or slower DSL link, you'll never get to it. Even on a reasonably high speed connection, expect long waits (several minutes perhaps).

I dub this “Most annoying website of the day”. Who hides a text article under a layer of very slowly loading flash animation?
I saw fruit flies, which got me thinking about how long the bananas had been sitting out.
3. Mis-underestimating the Opposition. - didn't think anyone would fight back about health care and then really pissed them off.
2. Never Give Up Control of the Document. - let Pelosi and Reid handle the Health Care Takeover instead of presenting Congress with a complete proposal (this is the same thing President Bush did with Social Security reform - have broad generalities but wanted Congress to actually write it).
1. Chasing Rabbits. - Too many big plans but doesn't complete any of them.
It's a pretty good article, but it shouldn't have had a direct link to the article instead of to the front page and then the page should have been text with some Flash for important animation (of which I saw none) instead of requiring an extremely long flash download to even see the article. Web design grade: F-minus-minus.
I don’t know where to post this but there is a poll now on AOL.com on Obamas performance and it shows people aren’t happy with him. Stop by and take the poll and make those numbers soar higher.
Add, for me:
6. Thinking a speech full of platitudes is going to fix something.
7. Sitting on his b*tt while small outposts are getting clobbered in Afghanistan, as he ponders his strategy...

Don't blame me - I voted for the war hero!
I’ve been fed up with the GOP so I didn’t vote this last year. But this Obama stuff reminds me of LBJ and the war-tinkering in Vietnam. My dad was there and he says they were never really turned loose to win. Now these 50-70 men outposts are exposed and I wonder what happens when the weather conditions prevent air support.

Those tadpoles are wierd, but if you wait a couple seconds, the story will appear.
Went there and read it. Good article.
