When was the last time anybody was hanged for treason? Anyone know? Been a long time. We're probably going to have to buy some new rope, but what the hell, rope ain't that expensive.

The federal government of the United States has never hung or executed anyone for treason. The state of Virginia imposed the death sentence for treason on abolitionist John Brown and also on Brown’s military aide, Aaron Dwight Stevens. They were hanged in 1860. Many people think that the Rosenbergs were executed for treason but they were executed for espionage.
