I (reluctantly) have to agree. It does sound more like “O God” (2 syllables) rather than “Obama” (3 syllables). But maybe that is just me.
Agreed...They’re saying “God”...The additional syllable is the natural effect of voices out of sync.
The more I listen to it, the more convinced I am that it’s “O God”. I’m really not hearing much (if any) vowel after the last consonant. It’s not impossible that someone somewhere in the audience might be saying “Obama”, whether out of some weird personal belief or because they misheard everyone else and are trying to follow along.
If we want to talk heresy, I’d say the clearest option is referring to MLK as a “prophet”. I’m not 100% on this, but isn’t it incorrect to refer to any post-Jesus figure as a “prophet”? There are apostles, certainly, and some Christian denominations label saints, but I’m pretty sure “prophet” is incorrect. Heck, the original Martin Luther doesn’t qualify as a “prophet”, despite his great significance.

Just like in real church, half the people mutter the response because they're not following the script, so it's hard to follow.

I triple checked. It is not just people out of synch. At least SOME of them are saying O-Ba-Ma.

I still don’t like what they’re saying, but at least they’re not praying to the president.
That’s what I thought at first. But I tried to listen to it with that paradigm and it did work for a couple but for some it was clearly people saying O-Ba-Ma. You can hear the “m”.
I agree, when I listen to it without watching the video, I hear “O God”.

Although some may be saying God, the name Obama is overwhelming. Be assured that Briebart is not going to release this unless he can back it up with testimony or a paper trail.
