Steven Chu: Americans Are Like ‘Teenage Kids’ When It Comes to Energy

When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons.

Speaking on the sidelines of a smart grid conference in Washington, Dr. Chu said he didn’t think average folks had the know-how or will to to change their behavior enough to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.

If anything we need MORE energy. We need more Nuclear Plants, more Geo-thermal, more Hydroelectric, more REAL energy and not the puny green stuff that has more impact on Nature than a little bit of Plant Food.

Not only that, but we need to develop Orbital Solar power as it doesn’t use up precious agricultural lands, and if we can develop it, we can start selling energy to other countries like the Saudis are.

Nothing would make me happier than to see the USA become the major energy supplier to the rest of the world. When this happens we will never have to worry about paying other countries whose ideals we disagree with for energy.
