HmmMMMM!: Winner & Associates Was on NEA Conference Call

A bit of backstory.

Before the election, My Pet Jawa found that very-professional style supposedly "grassroots" nasty hit job videos on Sarah Palin were being posted on YouTube.

He discovered that these were created by a Democrat-connected California PR agency named Winner & Associates.

The suspicion was that the ads had been created, covertly, with Axelrod's connivance, to create a fake "grassroots viral video" that couldn't be traced to Obama.

But it couldn't be proven. In the end it was smoke but no fire. A lot of smoke, and yet no smoking gun.

Ethan Winner confessed to making the video, but claimed he hadn't had contact with David Axelrod for ten years, it was all just something he felt like spending thousands of dollars on himself. As a goof.

Well.

Okay.

What was a rep for Winner & Associates doing on that conference call?

You know, the one where White House official Buffy Wicks thanked everyone for helping them win the campaign?

I don't know about this yet -- I really do not know if I can say this significantly advances the case. Need to mull it.

But it sure seems... coincidental.

Explanation of Why Winner Was on the Call: This press release from Winner explains that Winner was asked (um, hired, I think that means) to "launch" the White House's Office of Public Engagement -- where Buffy Wicks is the deputy director.

That explains, I guess, why they were on the call, despite not being artists. Sort of. Except for the fact Winner does not do art, they do PR and commercials.

It does not explain how this ad agency that had nothing at all to do with Axelrod or Obama got "asked" (um, hired, I think) to help "launch" an office.

Why Winner? How did Axelrod suddenly remember Winner?

They all worked for Obama before he was elected! Didn’t you notice that Buffy stated to the LA peeps that working on the campaign together has now gotten them sitting at the table to further the administration.

All connected - before and now after the election.

Which means the NEA worked on propaganda before BO was elected.

Glenn Beck will be on in about ten minutes...he may have some answers.

It's time for another round of emails to our representatives and senators to pull public funding for NEA!!

Just like ACORN, these people have been using (unlawfully) our tax money to run campaigns against us.

BTW, we need to see some ACORN people go to prison...they knew they were breaking the law!!

What do you think about this outfit? Wonder if it gets stimulus money or if they are government funded in any way?

This all stinks to high heaven!

Does this mean that Obama really was behind the attack ads on Sarah Palin using our tax dollars to pay for it???

Except for the fact Winner does not do art, they do PR and commercials.

On a related note: listening to talk radio in So. Cal, almost all the stations have "public service announcements" (PSAs) that urge kids to get healthier and smarter, refuse drugs, for parents to become more involved, to protect the environment -- very slickly produced and blandly entertaining emptinesses -- they must have cost a mint. Quite professional. At least the refuse they put out is well-executed.

Meanwhile, the local use of PSAs, such as announcements of a charity fundraiser, a church bizarre, a public concert, a city parade, a high school car wash -- no one announces those anymore in times where there aren't paid commercial ads in play. I guess the PSA time is taken up with nice professional announcements on a par or better with commercially made ones. Gee ... hmmmmm ... you think maybe the studio that's producing them is in tight with somebody who doles out our tax money?

Expect it in newspapers if Obama's "bail-out" of papers happens.
