As faithful Longhorn fans go, my friends are right up there. They may prefer to remember the Longhorn wins but they will reluctantly recall the losses. Like the loss to Texas Tech last season. But thats old news, as you know its always the next game that counts. As for this game, the story goes
The first quarter started with a flag against Tech. But Techs QB, Taylor Potts got his team moving quickly with the Horns defense seemingly dragging their feet. It almost looked like the Horns defense was playing scared. However, as soon as Longhorn fans start to question the Horns defensive ability they deliver a good hit causing Tech to bauble the ball. Somehow Techs WR, J. Franks manages to hang on and gives their kicking team good field goal position. Tech 3, Texas 0.

That was a great game!
Any other bull worth his pedigree would have given Shipley another one for that stunt. And what the heck was that stoooopid segment of Shipley playing the guitar and singing? Major assault to the ears.
Thanks for the howler, sport. Tech played a good game, but can’t ever manage to beat Mack Brown’s Horns in Austin.
Im so impressed with Potts. 3 picks vs North Dakota just 2 weeks ago to almost pulling off the victory in Austin. Credit the Horns for solid players, especially the pass rush and secondary. The Big12 will be amazing this year.
I could be like a another Big 12 team’s fans and say that 3 of our 4 defensive ends were injured, and thats why we lost, but Texas was just better last night. Cant wait for the rest of the season.
Great game! I was pulling for Tech, but still a great game. Actually, two great games: The first half was a great defensive battle, and the second was a great offensive battle. Fun watch!
Too much bias by the officials.
Cheers :^)
Easy Does It
Texas and Florida on a collision course.
I saw parts of the game but this article fails to mention TTech kicking an onside kick (early in the third?) that failed leaving the Horns on their own fifty - they went on to at least a field goal if not a touchdown. Without that “call” TTech might have won the back and forth game? Good game though ... ;-)
Potts was amazing Saturday night. Spread the ball around, very composed and only 1 pick. The fumble, he was blindsided and the refs should of called a helmet to helmet hit. He way outplayed McCoy. I hope McCoy’s performance kills all the Heisman talk. Potts deserves the Heisman right now more than McCoy.
Sure, why not. Tech are 0-6 in Austin (in the Mack Brown era) so that’s entirely plausible.
Why? Colt has had better games than last night, and he's much better of an athlete than Potts. Let me know when Potts achieves 77% passing efficiency (for a season) or sets any NCAA records.
hahaha. That’s it? hahaha
Not sure what you expected?? Tech’s fans are sore losers, that’s one thing I’ve learned from you and the other Tech fans on this site.
bwahahaha
Tech fans aren’t sore losers. They just dread going back to Lubbock.
Be gone, troll!
Possibly. I’ve been to games in Lubbock when Texas has beat Tech, and their fans are among the worst sore-losers in the country. Lubbock is also one of the crappiest towns in Texas, that much is certain. That’s why it’s easy to dismiss the children like “DRey” for what they are.
