I thought he was God’s Partner in matters of life and death?

This is getting confusing.

i bet he didnt think GWB was appointed from God, if we’re applying the same logic here, and this man teaches kids, just like Ayers. What a sorry state we are in. When the GOP take back the house and senate, first order should be to remove these idiots from positions of indoctrination.

It sounds suspiciously like the "Devine Right of Kings" claimed by medieval absolute monarchs.

That "right" vanished in the Common Law long before the Jonathans started the tax revolt that resulted in the United States of America. Even George III did not claim it.

As to power deriving from God, this author obviously either did not read the founding documents of the United States or he is willfully blind to them.

The US revolutionary dogma is that power does indeed derive from God, but it is devolved not directly to government, or to the executive thereof, but to the people who then lend it, grudgingly, to their various local, state and national governing bodies.

The author is right if one is to believe the scripture. All leaders are appointed by God. That doesn't make them good leaders or even “godly” leaders. It simply means they are appointed to bring about God's plan. But to say people cannot be critical of leaders (and health care) because they are appointed by God is ludicrous. Elijah had no problem in being critical to Ahab nor did Moses have a problem complaining to Pharaoh.

If the left would understand scripture a bit better they would repent and become conservatives.

I would remind the far right what the Apostle Paul wrote, “ ... there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” Hence, Obama is the U.S. president and leader of the Free World because he was appointed by God.

Ya right buddy! Really insightful. You could say the same think about Hitler, Jimmy Carter or anybody....God really
believes Obama is the one guy we really need now.....not!!

This clown needs to check himself into the nearest rehab center for a little down time. He seems mentally exhausted.

Let me get this straight: He is appointed by God, therefore we Fundamentalist rubes just need to nod our heads and go “Oh, OK”. And I really don’t see how this idiot gets around the GWB/God issue.
