It was a surprise that the Senate voted heavily to defund ACORN from further contracts with a couple of federal agencies.
The House this afternoon selected a nuclear option instead, not only defunding ACORN from all federal agencies, but voting overwhelmingly to go further by defunding any "ACORN-related affiliate", a term of art that by the language of the bill specifically includes:
(B) Any organization that shares directors, employees, or independent contractors with ACORN.
(C) Any organization that has a financial stake in ACORN.
(D) Any organization whose finances, whether federally funded, donor-funded or raised through organized goods and services, are shared or controlled by ACORN.
For starters, according to ACORN's website, this will include:
* ACORN Institute * ACORN Housing Corporation * Living Wage Resource Center * ACORN Law on the Web * KABF Radio * KNON Radio * Project VOTE * Site Fighters, and * Social Policy
In addition any company, foundation, or non-profit corporation that shares a Director with ACORN, shares funding, or makes sizeable financial commitments to the organization, will need to seriously consider establishing some distance for itself.
The bill still must go to committee, but given the overwhelming vote in the House, it is unlikely to be watered down before being sent to President Obama's desk.
The big question: Given that Mr. Obama once worked for ACORN and that his campaign paid ACORN $800,000 for turning out some pimps and hos voters for his election, will the President sign the bill into law?

It doesnt increase the deficit and it doesnt add one cent to the taxpayer.In fact it saves a lot of money

We need to stay up on this...also follow and see what the many other names ACORN uses and see if those entities are receiving funding!
This should include SEIU because ACORN SEIU and Obama are joined at the hip.
Elections every two years for members of the house of representatives tend to focus their priority. Of course,I did not pluralize priority, because there is only one. Reelection.
Those rapid votes to defund Acorn came on the heels of an invasion of angry voters and irrefutable evidence that the democrats secret weapon is no longer secret.
It was not because of some sudden urge to have clean government.
I agree “this action comes on the heels” of the Tea Party Mob showing up recently.
ACORN Defunding was a Priority over Healthcare and moved like a Rocketship.
What did we Learn ?
One Acorn Sting was Ignored by the MSM. By itself, it was going to die an Obscure Death by MSM spike. The number Two showed up....The MSM hesitated.....By ACORN story Three they Panicked
and it became a Story WITHOUT the MSM.

Very good point. The reporters used Alinsky’s own techniques against ACORN, dribbling out the news over multiple cycles. They drew ACORN and its defenders into a hasty defense, then hit them again.
This will have the effect of making the liberal fascists more careful before leaping to righteous defense.

well if obama sign it acorn can expose everything about obama and if obama it shows he still in their side and can be a liability to his already failing presidency
and if obama doesn’t sign the bill it shows he is willing to sacrifice his presidency for acorn

Because the operational structure he has built and from which he presides has all the organizational characteristics of the Hugo Chavez Chavista Community Organizating goups (en los bloques, en los esquinas) as was with the "turbas" (mobs) of "community organizers" by the Sandinistas in Nicaragua seizing total Socialist control, bloque by bloque, barrio by barrio, buying this segement of the population off with gifts, bribes, funds, i.e. tax monies taken from the backs of the actual producers of the society. Further, when Mel Zelaya very recently made his similiar Chavez-inspired, Chavez-copied, Chavez-funded anti-constitutional, socialist, Leader-for-Life power grab in Honduras, OBAMA went ahead with it 100% to the point of pulling aid from the patriots (Michelleti) who kicked out Zelaya and who courageously prevented his return and squashed the leftist community organizing groups in Honduras.You see, clearly folks, OBAMA WANTS THIS FOR THE UNITED STATES AND FOR HIMSELF.
Obama called for a large civilian national security force, larger than our US army.
THE POLITICAL POWER CENTER OF THAT FORCE TO ACHIEVE THAT COUP D'ETAT UNDER A SHREDDED U.S. CONSTITUTION UNDER "THE MESSIAH" WAS AND IS NONEOTHER TO BE THE SHOCK TROOPS ***ACORN*** AND ***SEIU*** and others.
WE have gone in and begun to crack the testicles of this ACORN Operation and they do not like it one bit--and they are relatively silent as they were on Van Jones because they know we are on to them. It is only a matter of time before they order hits on people standing up to this impending Chavista takeover. We have to keep this up, keep this up, keep this up, tell the Republicans to lead, follow or get out of the way, and if necessary, take that imposter out of the White House on top of his furniture along with the rest of his trash (figuratively speaking).
ACORN--Along with the Tea Parties, Town Halls and D.C. March--REPRESENTED TRULY the opening shots of this long battle. AND THE WHITE HOUSE KNOWS IT.
And THIS is where the rubber meets the road. Keep it up, this has to do with the very continuation of our Republic as we know it.
How I would love to see this bill pass Congress and be vetoed by Obama.
