I am looking for a list of conservatives colleges in Texas, specially states universities around the San Antonio area, any recommendations?
My daughter will be ready for college in about 3 yrs, and I am doing my research and planning to start visiting them.
I also would like to know what colleges are the ones we should avoid at all costs.

LeTourneau University, Longview, TX. I am adjunct faculty there. Email me privately if you wish to discuss.

Baylor I guess is pretty close to “conservative”

I’m already working on convincing my kids that A&M is the place for them to go, especially since my daughter wants to be a Veternarian (at least this week ;))

Texas Lutheran in Seguin may fill the bill. I’m not sure how overall conservative it is, but I know some darn fine kids who went there, and came out good kids. Only 30-40 miles from San Antonio.

Don't think there are any.
When Baylor University fires a professor simply for mentioning intelligent design, it's time to concentrate on getting the best of what they do offer and thoroughly indoctrinate you students on politics before they attend a university.

Texas A&M would be your best bet.

Abilene Christian University in Abilene. Approx. 5500 students, NCAA Div II, conservative, somewhat affiliated with the less legalistic side of the C of C.

Not near San Antonio and not a "state" university, but this Catholic university is excellent.
University of Dallas

Baylor, I hear. LeTorneau, definitely.

“Texas A&M. ...but its over 150 mi. away from San Antonio.”
So it takes Texans about an hour to get there?

Hopefully not “Notre Dame” fake catholic with a small c.
What about TCU in Fort Worth? The C is supposed to stand for Christian but who knows today.

I don't know about colleges per se, but UT Austin (no flames, please!) has two of my favorite professors: J. Budziszewski (a well-known Natural Law proponent and author) and
Thomas Pangle.
