The announcement that President Obama has caved in to Soviet demands to scrap the missile defense plans in Europe serves not just to appease the Russians but also clears the way for the Iranians to have a clear shot at European cities once they have their own nukes. This is the convenience of seeing everything having to do with defense as an expense and waste of money that could be better suited to other purposes such as spending money on programs that actually can buy and bribe the voters.....

So well put, it is fantastic.

I love the point of destroying everything so they can bribe voters for ultimate control of the USA.

I just read a news item about this, and it doesn't say they are scrapping missile defense in Europe, and it doesn't say they are clearing the way for Iran. It says they are deploying the system in Turkey and somewhere else (i forget) closer to Iran. The system is intended to defend Europe and the eastern US from Iranian attacks.

"Our new missile defense architecture in Europe" will be "smarter, safer, and swifter" than the plan authorized by predecessor George W. Bush, Obama said during brief remarks at the White House.

Sounds like a phony mobile system that will not be deployed until there is an imminent threat. I don't care how they disguise it, this is backing down from the Russians who didn't want the system installed in their former colonies. It takes the ground out from under the leaders of Poland and the Czech Republic who courageously took a strong stand despite Russian threats and bluster.

Instead, the new system his administration is developing would deploy smaller SM-3 missiles, at first aboard ships and later probably either in southern Europe or Turkey, according to those familiar with the plans said.

I was a Foreign Service Officer for 28 years. Later means probably a very long time from now, if ever.

Russia promises to put in a good word for us with the Iranians about entering nuclear talks, and promises to “consider” sanctions ...

As it continues to earn hard currency by selling Iran nuclear technology and high tech defense weapons

What’s not to like about a deal like that?

U.S. concerned over Venezuela-Russia arms deal

IMHO, it's related. Oil rich Venezuela needs a loan?
