Here is video of Politico's Mike Allen on MSNBC admitting to Willie Geist that the Mainstream Media was slow in covering the unfolding ACORN Scandal, ignoring it because they essentially regarded it as just "noise" from conservatives "obsessed" with ACORN.
But Allen admitted that if this kind of video came out about an Christian Organization - like the Christian Coalition, for instance, it would be a major story in every newsroom. Both Geist and Allen agreed that this is NOT just a "Fox News story," but an important one.
Allen said newsroom editors are telling him they were slow to the story because of all the other major news going on!

From my experience, news organizations and reporters will embargo stories that they didn’t/couldn’t break out of pride and will only return to them if the story grows legs.
The catch-22 is that the initial “gatekeeping” kills a lot of scandal and corruption stories out of simple hubris and pride.

Not true. If it makes conservatives look bad, news organizations could care less where the stories come. Shoot, the Obama Stream Media would report on rumors in the Blogosphere if it made Sarah Palin look bad. They don't care where the story came. The media is agenda driven.
I wonder if Washington DC is already so thoroughly corrupt leftist that it will not investigate the corruption that is leftist ACORN. And would Charlie Gibson ever notice?

The “noise” reference is to the “Noise Machine”, ultimately a reference to David Brock’s 2004 book, The Republican Noise Machine.
ABCNews is taking its talking points from Media Matters.
All reporters, including sports reporters, are snoddy against bloggers. They hate them. But still, the liberal media will temporarily overcome their disdain for bloggers if a blogger comes up with a story like Sarah Palin pees standing up.

No, they ignored it because they know it’s the real thing and the ‘bama is in it up to his ears. The MSM will never report anything that harms the ‘bama, ever. And everyone knows it.
