These may well be the times that try the souls of Democrat politicians. In the 8 months since Obama took office, the fortunes of the Democrat Party have changed substantially. Voters, especially Independent voters, now favor Republicans on many issues and in Rasmussen’s Generic Congressional Ballot. It has been a remarkable turnaround – yet the worse is yet to come for Democrats in office.

I suppose if you use the Pied Piper analogy you have to refer to rats but that has been done to death.

It’s obvious to all by now that Democratic congress types were happy to bury GWB and snub their ‘buddy’ McCain but to watch Obama and his craven, cynical advisers has them absolutely lost at sea.

What am I missing? I fail to see anything that resembles a backlash against Democrats at least that will manifest on any voting day. Now, people I talk to, even Democrats, seem a little anxious about what is happening in DC. Insanity makes people uncomfortable.

That doesn't translate into Republican votes. I was impressed by the pictures I saw from DC last weekend. Still, even if ten times that many wanted to be there and could not i.e. 15,000,000 more possible voters, unless they are all Democrats and will feel the same way in the voting booth, nothing changes.

I hope I'm wrong. Right now the Democrats own the forum. Does anyone think they will lose it in 14 months?
