Rasmussen-> Speech Bounce Evaporates, Health Care Approval Back to Pre-Speech Levels
Rasmussen/ The Lid ^ | 9/15/09 | The Lid

Last week President Obama made a prime-time television speech trying to turn around the lousy public opinion of his Obamacare health care plan, and it worked for a while (although not as big as the phony CNN poll). According to a new poll released by Rasmussen, that bounce the POTUS got from his speech evaporated almost as quickly as it appeared. In fact approval of his heath care plan has returned to the pre-speech levels.

Forty-five percent of voters favor the plan while 52% are opposed. A week ago, before the speech, 44% supported the proposal and 53% were opposed:

These polled who oppose health care must be racists because that is the only explanation.....

That’s what some pundits were saying right after the speech—there would be a short-lived bounce, then the polls would be back to where they were before. But they were predicting two weeks rather than less than one week to get back. Maybe all the attention to whether Joe Wilson should be tarred and feathered for blurting out the truth caused people to forget the speech even more quickly.

Knew that was going to happen. He’s trying to woo the public with pretty words. Many get caught up in the moment, but, when the glow is gone the numbers go back down. Each time he does this, it’s going to get harder and harder. And each time, more and more people are going to get a clue as to how damaging his policies are.

And he’s doing more this week including five Sunday morning show interviews this weekend. I’m starting to wonder if it will be like my decongestant nasal spray. If I have symptoms and use it, it generally works and if the underlying cause remains I get stuffed up again. If I use it several consecutive days it will continue to work. If I use it several consecutive weeks I get a horrible rebound effect that creates worse congestion. Will BHO’s excessive face time cause a negative rebound this Sunday?

“More cowbell!!!”

Yes! The Kenyan’s mug will be on TV, lying, 7x24.

This is good as the more he’s seen and heard from, the less people like him, and say to themselves, doesn’t he ever STFU?

0bama’s so vindictive he'll punish us with a televised speech every week! And if his numbers drop further, he'll up it to two televised speeches a week. There is a direct correlation between the dropping of his popularity and the number of weekly televised speeches. Guess we'll be listening to his 'ssssssssses' every day really soon. Very very soon!

Most Americans get it.

doesn’t he ever STFU?

Ever notice how if a car has a boatload of bumper stickers on the back, chances are good it'll be a liberal's car. They think they know more than everyone and everyone is just waiting for their words of wisdom. They really can't shut up.

I don’t mind the liberal bumper stickers. I give them the finger as I drive by.

Too bad the house didn’t fall on Pelosi.
