The distance represented in this photo is about 1.67 miles. That’s a eight-lane street with meridian (it’s hard to cross on a single light) about 400-500 feet wide or more. Roughly 3.5 square feet including sidewalks. If you figure even 3 square feet per person, that’s 1.3 million people.

Actually the streets around the capitol are already calibrated for crowd measurement. Don’t even need much photography to get the numbers.

The idea is to have fun. Yes, be TRUTHFUL WARRIORS in the face of battle, but also be by HAPPY warriors.

I know it is out of Saul Alinsky's book, but it also makes common sense. It will keep crowds together and have them coming back for more and more.

I heard Obroma flew off in our Marine helicopter during the early stage of the protests.

Do you think he was afraid that if the crowd suddenly decided to fix things, there would be no way to stop them? I smell a little fear from the man of mystery and his Chicago gangsters.

That's interesting. That makes sense, given that it's the site of frequent events and the numbers are important to everyone.

Homeland Security had access to all hotel, and transit data, and their crowd scanner data, in addition to photo grammetry, and they said two million. Do you have a link for this?

“All I know was it was people as far as the eye could see and everyone was very friendly. No garbage thrown around , people would talk to you out of the blue about whatever issue , even the porta-johns were clean, no graffiti in evidence. Overall it was very uplifting.”

It was extremely uplifting, inspiring even. We were walking back to the mall after getting some lunch, and some fellow tea partiers in front of us and told a DC cop directing traffic “thank you sir for your service” the cop looked up at the swarm of tea party shirts behind us and said to us, “No, thank you guys”. That was an epiphany of sorts for me, it made me realize that this isn't some flash thats going away. there are many, many silent voices out there who get it and, I believe, are ready to stand with the just cause. We talked with folks who went through 2 hours of waiting through crowds at the burbs of the metro trying to get into Washington. There's nothing like getting together with a couple of million of your best friends for a little protesting!!

We had 4 buses from central PA. After the event, one of our group got lost on the way back. We had made a pledge on the way there that we would not leave anyone behind. Well, this one member got lost,, took the wrong train two different times and we even lost cell contact with her for over 45 minutes. We waited nearly two hours, possibly more, everyone kept a good attitude and when she finally arrived we all applauded and no one was upset. She was so thankful. Even on the trains in and out, we were meeting strangers and making conversation. On the way back, though, there were two youths (black) who got on at one of the stops and saw all the flags and so forth,, they started mocking us and using names, saying Obama was the savior of man and so forth,, people just smiled and engaged them verbally in the nicest of ways. “Do you really believe that?” a mother said. “We’re here defending your freedom” someone else said. They were trying to agitate but people just smiled, listened and responded positively.
