Hope for positive change rose yesterday when according to one estimate, as many as two million people marched on Washington DC; even as Barack Obama hid from them in Minnesota. It was one of the highlights of hundreds of events around the country with the participation of millions of ordinary citizens who know that government has gone terribly wrong. An epic political event; of, by, but as it turned out not so much for The People. ...

I wonder if Sarah Palin would have stepped up to the podium, how the crowd would have received her?
The crowd would have loved it but the media would have made it all about her.
Where was Sarah, anyway...did I hear correctly that Rep’s. Ron Paul & Michele Bachman were together in Minneapolis?
Missed the message? The message is for like minded Republicans, Democrates and independents who are sick of whats going on in Washignton. If these speakers and others from both parties are shown to be untruthful they to will be booted! This is not about party, the’re both responsible for this mess. It is up to the people to screen, select and support those who will make IT HAPPEN. A CONSTITUTIONAL AGENDA!
Dismiss us at your peril. Next time we'll return with 20 million people, and we'll stay.
I’m pretty sure that the crowd would have gone wild. But haven’t you heard the news? As a result of her participation in the last election, she represents true American conservative values - so the Republican Party has shunned her.
So- are you crediting Dick Armey with this entire movement?
I think it was an equal-opportunity bash- the Dems are on the hot seat at present- but most of us found the Congress while under GOP leadership equally impossible.
Do you think most of the people at the tea party were fooled by the political hacks?
LOL,
For it to have been “Really” for the people, what would have occured in your opinion? I’m sure I missed something. Did Dick Army pay these folks to show up?
with chants of SAR-AH! that Obie would have heard in Minn.
Nicely said.
Good points, good reasoning - but I think the Republican Party already has too much baggage. We would not and could not be in the midst of a Marxist take-over if Republicans hadn’t helped. In the immediate, they’re already working toward public acceptance of everything that’s proposed - in the spirit of “compromise”. They’ve had decades to listen, and they haven’t because they don’t care. How should we wrap this thought up? Fool me several thousand times, shame on you - but watch out after the next thousand?
I am afraid that your piece is more right than I wish it were.....I am one who used to almost out-of-hand disdain anything political with the word “Peoples” in it......things DO change, don’t they?
2 million people went to the trouble to go to DC and have their voices heard, but Obama left town and did not listen. I think he is the most partisan President ever to serve. Insanely divisive. Outside of Clinton, I have never seen a President make national addresses and attack political opponents, and even Clinton did not do that in an address to Congress.
yep .. “Back to basics.” ... We’re so far from them, that’s the way it’s got to be.
That was gay
Both parties engage in rhetoric and behavior intended to be as divisive as possible. Divide and conquer.
You know, that is a very good point. Makes me feel like she stayed away so as to ensure the attention to the event was as it should be, and not about her, as the media would have spun it.
I would expect her to come out in a day or two and really trumpet what a great success it was and that all credit is due to true Patriots and Americans.
