Whats one more trillion dollars between friends. At least it seems that's what the POTUS thinks. While everybody has their eyes on the Health Care Issue which will add up to one trillion dollars to the national debt, the President has been maneuvering to have the government to to take over the student loan business. Starting next year the President wants to bar private lenders to make government backed, student loans. This take over will add another trillion dollars to the debt over a ten year period.

...to control who gets them...and to grab the interest/fees/work force $$ for the gov’t per se.
Yid and WSJ are late on this story, Glenn Beck covered this about two months ago.
Ping.
One day the morons in this country are going to wake up and realize there is no ‘private sector’ anymore.
And a government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take it away.
They will realized this when the barbed wire gates shut behind them and they are sent for their haircuts and ‘new’ clothes. And not until then.
you should read “pyonyang aquarium.” pres bush interviewed the author in the oval office, and i bought the book. awesome book. very, very similar instance happened to his family. they were japanese leftists who sold everything and moved to n. korea to be a part of the peoples’ movement in the late 70s, i think it was. anyway, as soon as they got off the boat, their family members who preceded them said, “why did you come? we told you not to come, that it wasn’t what we expected.” but of course, by then it was too late. you’ve got to read it.
I wonder why he’s not talking about government reform to control higher education costs, like health care? Why isn’t he pushing for the establishment of a panel that will decide how much universities can charge for tuition? Isn’t education a right? Why is this so different than health care? I wonder.
“Disablity” - the new welfare - without the pesky social workers - “forgives” student loans. And the program that helps the truly disabled, is being so overloaded with deadbeats that it’s not sustainable.
Nationalizing one thing after the other but, no, he’s not a Marxist. Sheesh!
OK, but it was Pres Bush and a Rep controlled Congress that pushed this in 2003.
There have been many defaults this past couple of years at our community college. Looks like an opening for getting people to “volunteer” for gov’t work in exchange for loan “forgiveness”.
