Just got the following e-mail from my son's elementary school:
"The _________ County Department of Health and _________ County Public Schools is offering the Flu Mist nasal spray vaccination next month to students in all elementary schools. All elementary-school students will receive a letter and consent form at school on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from the Health Department to take home to their parents. The consent form must be completed and returned to the school by Sept. 22 in order for your child to receive the vaccination. Please call xxx-xxx-xxxx or xxx-xxx-xxxx for more information or with any questions."
What to do?

FYI
FYI
My kids couldn’t get the flu mist last few years because my father took medication that wouldn’t allow him to be around it for three days or something (he lived with us) and they never got the flu. Either from everyone being so protected, or even from playing.
The average flu virus vaccine doesn’t concern me really. It’s the swine flu one that does simply because I’ve read too many reports that it is genetically (artificially) altered.
Our county is giving the Flu Mist vaccine as well. Our kids will get it this year; they’ve never gotten flu or the vaccine in the past. I don’t know why I changed my mind; maybe just the ease of having it w/o a shot which they hate. Maybe all the hype has gotten to me.
As far as I know, only those with compromised immune response should stay away from the flu mist.
