The biggest winner from the the whole Van Jones affair is Glenn Beck. After all, it was Beck that lead the charge against Van Jones. Beck was ahead of this story from the beginning, but it was this latest week that he put Jones in his own crosshairs.

Now he needs to be careful not to gloat, and not to over-reach.

What's ironic is that Beck is not considered, even by himself, as a journalist

Why? Beck is doing exactly the kind of investigative journalism and asking the questions that the rest of the press absolutely refuses to do.

As far as I'm concerned, Beck is one of the very few real journalists in the whole country.

All Beck did was shine a light on Van Jones, who then went scurrying back to darkness in under a week. What does that tell us?

“...who then went scurrying back to darkness...”

Yup, cockroaches do that sort of thing!

I just hope he hasn’t forgotten about Moron Trivia!

Correction: It wasn’t Glenn Beck who led the charge against Van Jones, it was Glenn Beck who highlighted the career of Van Jones. The RNC was all about letting Van Jones do his thing, Glenn Beck stood proud like a patriot.

The RNC was all about letting Van Jones do his thing, Glenn Beck stood proud like a patriot.

That's because the RNC would rather have its power back than do what's best for this nation.

Lot's of people were calling attention to Jones for many months and it wasn't until Beck dedicated himself to really exposing him that he went.

*Lot's (sic) of people? Like who?? MONTHS??!!

Now that Beck has serious momentum, he isn't going to stop. The Jones saga opens up several different fronts for Beck, and he will likely look to exploit both of them.

Completely misses the point. Beck hasn't *won* anything, he's the first to acknowledge it -- this isn't a game.

I agree. Beck points out that Jones was less dangerous when muzzled by the administration, but now is free to pursue his anti-Capitalism and race-baiting without restrictions and in many ways stronger for all the exposure he’s gotten lately.

Beck hasn’t gloated at all. In fact, while his penchant for emotionalism sometimes goes over the top for me, I have rarely seen a journalist dismantle any public figure so completely and with so little malice. He quoted Jones in context, and let the man hang himself.

In fact, the only time I ever heard the Beck Show wax sarcastic is when the White House asked him to stop calling Jones a “czar,” and to refer to him by his official title, which was something a paragraph long.

I’ve never gotten the sense that this is in any way personal, but rather that he’s recognized that playing talk-show whack-a-mole with every public figure who’s got problems, it may be more effective to take out the trash one bag at a time.

And for that courage, to stand up and proclaim on TV what others have been threatened for wanting to do, Glenn Beck is an heroic figure. His TV audience is more than blogging could reach. Now, the bloggers like Loudon (of New Zealand!) and Kincaid will get a wider readership and Glenn's effectiveness wil grow along with that.

I thank God for Glenn Beck, and pray for his safety and strength daily.
