When I win the lotto - one of the first things I am buying!!!!
I had one of those for a short time. Maybe not. Mine was made by Ford and it was marked Shelby but I don’t think it was improved by Shelby putting their engines etc. on it.
Still it ran really well. Not quite as fast as the tricked out SS396’s. (by tricked out, I mean the owners added the additional cams, manifolds, high performance pistons, carbs etc. not Chevy).
It would beat your typical Camarro or Firebird.
Me too. I’ve always loved those cars.

Nice Mustang!
Thx. 2004 Mustang Cobra with 2.3 Whipple.
And weights 500 lbs less then the new Shelby GT500.
I’ve got a regular stang that has done wonderfully as a commuter and is pushing 200k miles with an acceptable level of maintenance. Still hope to someday get a GT or a souped up version. I can’t say enough good things about those cars. Except when there’s ice on the road, lol. I wonder if it’s Mustang heresy to hope that someday and AWD option will be offered.
Go for a SVT or one of the earlier Shelby version, the lighter the better and many come with an on/off traction (anti-wheel spin) button. I think that the 2001 is one of the lightest version because of the all aluminum engines. And if you like you can supercharge it and get 450+ hp.
