Here is audio of former Baseball great Curt Schilling on the Dennis and Callahan Radio Show today where he talked about the possibility that he might run for the U.S. Senate seat formerly occupied for 47 years by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Schilling said one of his primary "credentials" would be that he "has no baggage - no special interests and no ties."

If Schilling runs, he would more than likely run as a Republican or an Independent. Take a look below at him introducing Sen. John McCain and speaking in his behalf during the 2008 election. He's pretty good on the stump . . . . (Audio / Video)

I don’t know: replacing a guy who’s main goal was to get on base with a guy...

“Schilling said one of his primary “credentials” would be that he “has no baggage - no special interests and no ties.””

That would be no problem for the msm and the dimoKKKRATS. They will just make something up.

I hope he runs. Might have to send money to support his campaign.

I wrote to our local Rep. last night, and got a reply from her this morning. She's a Republican, one of a very few, in the MA house, and not only does she oppose an interim appointment by the Governor, she's introducing a measure to have the Special Election held on Nov. 3rd, when there will be other municipal elections. That way, folks will be going to the polls anyway, there won't be as much of a threat of a snowstorm to mess up election day, and it would obviate the need for that interim appointment.

I wrote her back and told her I liked the plan, but wondered if there were any Republicans who were ready to run. I guess they'd be on par with most of the Democrats in terms of money on hand, since no one else had begun fundraising, either.

Curt Schilling would have instant name recognition, though, that's something in his favor.
