Ive shown you what happens when liberals protest Republicans. Despite their use of obscene language in public, their signs werent confiscated or destroyed. Although we may find that speech objectionable, we recognize their right to verbalize and express that speech.

Two years ago, I bought 12 CDS that were his thirty three
RPM albums and he opened one and autographed it to me.
My favorite is “Ballad of Sam Hall” on the Bawdy room
Ballads version one.
The best part is he wasn’t a cop. He’s a school security officer.
I’m not familiar with Virginia Schools but the School Resource Officers here in Georgia are fully certified Police Officers. They receive the same training and have all the arrest capability as any other police officer. Plus they receive additional training on how to deal with adolescents.
They “ain’t” rent-a-cops........
There was a thread where Freepers tracked down who hired the guy and who he worked for. The local police said “He ain’t ours” and directed Freepers who to contact at the school.
As I can only refeence Georgia, the School Resource Officers aren’t part of the local PD or Sheriff’s orgs......
They are there own department which I believe reports to the county....
Visually edifying, but will do nothing to stop this behavior.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I disagree. People that engage in this type of behavior depend on it being done “in the dark”.
A youtube of the event would be throwing a lot of daylight on this guy.
ok, I give - who is Bob Parks?
LOL - This could get Officer Cheeks an appointment to O’bambi’s political poster czar/advisorory board.
A picture is “speech” as much as letters are “speech.”
“A youtube of the event would be throwing a lot of daylight on this guy.”
And this will accomplish??
If we don’t sue these cretins(like the ACLU sues all of their enemies(patriots or Christians), we will fail. Go after their money. The lawsuit would garner 10 times the exposure.
He is a black conservative Republican.
Although these incidents are neither desirable nor helpful, particularly, there is a good in showing that there is no longer kneejerk “unity” based on skin color.
I think the protester should sue anyway. A person with law enforcement authority should not be threatening to arrest someone for exercising his First Amendment rights.
I say sue Cheeks and the school board that hired him.
Buh-buh bye!
Yes, thank you (again), Mr. Parks!
Schools have different standards for regulating speech of students and on school property when such property is being used as a school!
Here the property was rented for a non-school purpose and opened to the public for attendance and protest on school grounds.
There’s no way a “security officer” can pick one sign out, b/c of its graphic, and say “that’s not allowed.”
The OJoker poster is NOT illegal!
What is a “picture”?
When does a logo become a “picture”?
When does a font become a “picture”?
Cheeks’ argument was ridiculous. And regardless, saying “it ain’t America no more” . . . wth?
I agree.
At the link!

You are spot on the money! The school, and this flunky cop would have to settle, and the ensuing publicity would be huge!
Got it - eventually clicked through. Had not realized he was the author and the guy with the sign.
