The cited AP story states:
A first television job on Today is, in her fathers world, sort of like a run for president as a first attempt at elective office. Hager said that people on the show have always made me, whenever Ive been there, feel very comfortable.
Bell said Hager wont be covering politics. He said he didnt consider the job as a down payment for a future interview with her father, who has been living quietly in Texas since leaving office earlier this year. Attacks on NBC News by conservatives for the liberal bent of MSNBC also had nothing to do with it, he said.
I hope to focus on what Im passionate about because I think Id do them best job on them education, urban education, women and childrens issues and literacy, Hager said.
What she doesnt plan to do is talk about her experiences as the daughter of a president.
I dont think its that interesting, she said. Im pretty normal.
I too think that as long as politics is kept out of the equation, Jenna will be OK. The last thing Id like to see happen is for Jenna to become some punching bag for Bush-hating media liberals at NBC. I actually wonder how she feels about the media, considering what they did to her father for over eight years.
Shes not like Meghan McCain, who, like her father, became such a sell-out to the GOP and its core principles (which is why the MSM loves her so much). On the flip side, shes definitely not like Liz Cheney either, whose business on TV has been dicussing politics and her father.
What do you think? Good idea or not?

Or almost like a ‘community organizer’ acheiving the presidency!
I hope not... but I see a Meghan McCain redux in the coming. There is no way the MSM would host Bush’s daughter, unless she’s a liberal or can be used somehow to bash Conservatism.
>> I hope not... but I see a Meghan McCain redux in the coming.
Yeah, or worse yet, a Ron Reagan redux. I could really do without that prissy liberal ballerina. His daddy must be spinning in his grave over little Ronnie.
Jenna’s pet causes don’t exactly sound conservative to me.
Jennas pet causes dont exactly sound conservative to me.

Ditto!
Conservatives can’t care about literacy, children’s and womens issues, urban education? Of course we can it is how we determine to solve these issues that differ from liberals.
>> it is how we determine to solve these issues
That’s liberal feelgood doublespeak.
You don’t “solve issues”, you solve PROBLEMS. Unless of course you’re just in favor of bigger, more meddlesome government all the way around.
What PROBLEMS, specifically, do you see here that need Jenna, politics, or government to solve them?
“literacy” is a liberal code word for “bilingual education”
“children” is a liberal code word for “increase welfare”
“women’s issues” is a liberal code word for “feminist lesbian male-bashing”
“urban education” is a liberal code word for “funnel money to the NEA and stamp out vouchers and homeschooling”.
Nope, sorry, those are 100% liberal feelgood issues Jenna is crazy about.
