Where running out of resources—yet they continue to let in swarms of LEGAL immigrants every year, while telling us idiots that such immigration is a noble thing that is wonderful for us.

Wake up!

America's runaway population growth--which is 99% from immigrants and their offspring--is costing us our freedom in small steps.

Before you know it, you will be herded into population centers (cities) to live in human anthills (apartment houses) because such living conserves resources.

That will be after they tax single family homes (like they now tax cigarettes) out of existence, that they may use the land for growing food, nature museums, and the like.

At the rate of population growth, this will be the fate of Americans by mid-century, if not sooner.

Unless the government greatly reduces the number of LEGAL immigrants allowed in each year (and the government won't).

Not in my area yet. One of the former owners of my house put in the Kansas Power & Light Co. thermostat that regulates the air and it PI**ES me off. So many mornings I wake up hotter than hell because the thermostat is up way too high.

Fluorescent lights give me migraines.

I think I will fill my storage unit with incandescent bulbs.

Yep same here. Just the 45’s and 60’s though. 75 and 100 my wife says are too bright, and yes my eyesight has suffered.

The Boston Tea Party comes to mind.

That is what is needed here...

A whole truckload of them needs to be destroyed on the highway... one by one...

forcing a haz-mat environmental team to clean up all the mercury. Then lets see what the environmentalists have to say about that.

I have been to the GE lighting plant in the Youngstown factory that makes the incandescent light bulbs. The factory id over 1200 years old, and makes millions of light bulbs every year.

It is a crying shame that so many people are being duped by the global warming hoax. The fact that there is no warming doesn't stop them, the fact that they can not get their computer models to demonstrate what has already happened doesn't stop them. The fact that they have no empirical evidence that CO2 is even a cause for the warming that isn't occurring, They can not even explain why they think that the present temperature is the right and best temperature for the earth.

They are insane, and all those who go along with the hoax are self delusional fools. Unfortunately there are many fools in this world.

Light bulbs ill last indefinitely if not used. I have some bulbs that we found in a basement we were cleaning out from the 1950’s and I am using some of them today in my house. As long as the vacuum is undisturbed they will work if stored.

OK! I spent a fortune purchasing these bulbs. Here is a scoop. One of the 120w bulb when turned on is about 90w and takes a time to warm up to the 120w. One 60w bulb does not fire when immediately switched on then fires. Some of my areas require 100w and you have to be careful that if the bulb is enclosed such as a globe that it states may be used in an enclosed fixture. Most bulbs you are replacing are around 2700 kelvin. Decided to use 5000k in bathrooms with the rest at around the 2700 to 3500k range. Nice, but the color temperature from one room to another takes a little while to get used to.

I am guessing, but fluorescent when getting old usually will not come on immediately. Guess I'll find out in time.

I just had an electrician come over last week to install a new receiver in my Hunter ceiling fan, as the previous receiver had been a lemon and so the remote control had not worked. This particular electrician specializes in ceiling fans and chandeliers. He told me that I could not use all CFL bulbs in the ceiling fan lights because “some receivers are designed to work with incandescent lights and won’t work unless there is at least one incandescent bulb of the three.” He was right. I was able to use 2 CFL bulbs, but if the third bulb was a CFL, the remote would not function. Put an incandescent bulb in that last light and bingo! It worked perfectly. So what happens to fixtures such as this which actually require an incandescent bulb in order to function? The idiots who jump prematurely on bandwagons such as the “Green Bandwagon” before they consider all possible ramifications of their actions should NOT be responsible for passing legislation of any kind. As Ralph Nader would have said, these legislator morons and their Fearless Leader (ha!) are “unsafe at any speed.”

I bought some of those darn trendy bulbs and it takes them a few minutes to light up after you turn them on. If you need instant light, you are SOL. They cost a fortune, too. But the old ones got to where they were burning out really fast.

The 5k degree Kelvin lights are used for display lighting in, for example, jewelry stores. They really make diamonds and cut crystal pop. The 3.5k degree Kelvin light give realistic colors, very much like natural sunlight. As a matter of fact you have to be careful because fabrics will fade under the 3.5k lights.

We use a combination of 32 watt fluorescents and 12 volt 35 watt halogens in 3.5k degree Kelvin in our store. The halogens are rated 2,000 hours, at which time they start to put out a lower color temperature light. They get moved to basement & storage lighting for the rest of their life. Some of the fluorescents have run continuously 24/7 for over 5 years. Rated at 32 watts, they draw closer to 28 watts and put out more light than the garden variety 40s. Neither of these bulbs come cheap; the fluorescents are almost twice the typical 40 watt price and the halogens are about $10. The upside is our electric bill is about 1/3 that of the previous business (a jeweler) that used lower tech lighting.

Nonsense...thats just an excuse to close the place down.

People will still NEED bulbs. If the old incandescent type has had its day, why dont they just tool the factory up to make the new types? Or did they just not think of that?
