If they could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, just 25% of voters nationkowide would keep the current batch of legislators.A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% would vote to replace the entire Congress and start all over again. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure how they would vote.
This is one of those exercises in pure fantasy that still brings a smile to my face even though I know that American voters tend to express their disappointment more in polls than at the polls.
Job security among legislators in Washington does more to destroy this country year in and year out than anything our enemies our cooking up. The smug elitism we've seen this summer from the likes of Jim Moran, Harry Reid, The Botox Hag and so many others is directly related to the fact that they haven't yet experienced a correlation between responsiveness to constituents and reelection. As long as the latter is assumed, the former suffers.

Can you just imagine a congress made up of “average Joes” like ourselves or our neighbors?
Can you imagine how much would actually get accomplished?
Can you imagine the REAL CHANGE for the better that would happen in this country if its laws were made by people who have to actually obey and LIVE by these laws?

The are complacent and self-satisfied socipaths - many of them not very bright - and they are parasites on the wallets and goodwill of everyday Americans.
The only demographic group that is more generally capable of lying, theft, and shameless self-interest is incarcerated in our state and federal penal institutions.
We like to blame Zer0 and his minions, but the sociopathic denizens of Capitol Hill are far more responsible for the problems that we have in America today.
The media too, but that’s a different issue.

I got an idea for a town hall meeting, ask the senator/congressman why we need czars, what is their purpose and if we have czars doing the govt business what the hell do we need with congress and senate? Obama has so much power he is no longer a president he is a dictator.
OK, I’ve seen these vote’em out articles seversal times today. Is anyone actually doing anything yet like a web site (Vote’em Out.org)or organizing like the Tea Parties? I would support something like this - or better yet how about an immediate solution - recalls. Anyway no time like the present to get started.
There is a movement to do just this. The GOOOH party. The plan is to replace all (read all) of the representative in the house in 2010. Tim Cox is not just talking he is doing. I just wonder how the attempt can be made without splitting the gop even further. But it is worth a look because the gop has not exactly been on our side either. It could wake the party up.
I think it would be a good Idea to replace congressional elections with a draft, sort of like jury duty. Before you flame me, hear me out. Participants would be chosen from voter registration rolls, that insures they are of age and at least somewhat politically active. Those that don’t care at all, wont register to vote to prevent being called. You would serve a two year term during which you would be paid the average wage at that time in the U.S. No congressional elections or campaigns or campaign financing. If you are a small business owner and service would devastate your business, you could appeal your selection and be deferred to a different time. Each participant will be given a course on the Constitution, and law, and be tested. Failure of the test only delays your service until the next session. I know, our Constitution doesn’t allow for this type of system, I just think it could possibly work better.

I haven’t seen/heard any congress critter that I’m really impressed with, maybe Michelle Bachman.
I think people would be more open to cleaning out the whole place and starting over.
Heck, I’m all for scrapping both parties. I really can’t stand the democrats, but I’m really disappointed in the republicans.
