Here is a CBS News report on how Jaycee Dugard was held captive in a backyard for 18 years. The report talks about the fact a neighbor called police three years ago and said there were "people living in tents" in the backyard. The police went to the home, but never looked in the backyard.
The report shows animation of what the backyard looked like, and how she was kept hidden there.
Dugard was kidnapped from a bus stop at age 11, and now reportedly has two children by the kidnapper, Phillip Garrido. . . . . . (Watch Video)

There’s some police departments that need some serious retraining...
Why does Whorealdo keep referring to the perp as a “religious zealot”?
Are they trying to spin this into anti-Christianity?
Because Whorealdo hates whites, christians, and conservatives.
Because his blog shows pretty clearly he is a religious (probably “Christian”) zealot?
The perv who kidnapped the young Mormon girl was also a religious nut?
bingo!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently not enough to reject the salary paid to him by the aforementioned, via being hired by Fox News.
What a shameless hypocrite.
He doesn’t sound Christian...he sounds ‘toys in the attic’ crazy.
“I can control sound with my mind.”?
WTF?
Supposedly, he is a reformed LSD addict. An ex-con, he thrived in California’s permissive progressive liberal society where psychotic criminals have more rights than victims.
Anybody who quotes scripture is usually perceived as Christian by the media, and indeed by most people. I don’t accept him as such and you probably don’t either. But that doesn’t mean most people don’t.
You gotta admit controlling sound with his mind is a bit of a switch on the old “mind controlled by sound.” (The voices made me do it.)
I didn't read the whole thing but I found nothing in this to label him Christian. Religious only in references to God and a biblical quote doesn't make it Christian. This guy sounds more like he imagined himself a cult leader without any followers who weren't held captive.
The voices made him do it but he was controlling the voices with his mind.
I want to know more about the other women and children the neighbor saw.
Isn't that just the kidnapped girl and her two children? You think there might have been more victims?
Can the parents sue the police department? I mean, somebody reported their suspicions back in 2006, and the police dept did nothing. I think they made a perfunctory visit, but really didn’t go exploring. Garrido said they needed a warrant, so the police never came back. But it seems that the police don’t need a warrant to search the homes of registered sex offenders. The police dept really dropped the ball on this. The girl (and her children) had to endure 3 more years of torture because of them. And probably more. If the people in charge were on the ball, the girl and her children could have been discovered much sooner.
“Are they trying to spin this into anti-Christianity?”
In short, yes. More accurately, they are looking to show that Christianity is no different than Islam in terms of opression of women.
It’s like the woman arrest for the rape/murder of Sandra Cantu. She was constantly, CONSTANTLY referenced as a Sunday School teacher.
She taught in her Grandpa’s 10 member church for who knows how long. It wasn’t her profession or any major part of her identity. It would have been more accurate to describe her as a single mother, or a former Target employee, or a person with a history of trouble behavior. But no, all we ever heard was “Sunday School teacher.” Like it’s some sort of career.
sex offender with children living in tents in the backyard. HHHHHHMMMMMMMM. “Nothing wrong here boss. Let’s go get a donut.”
