The president marked the fourth anniversary of Hurrican Katrina by remarking on his administration's preparedness for the next storm and other disaster. He first used a dubious statistic. He claimed that over 1000 people died as a result of Hurrican Katrina, though he also once claimed that 10,000 people died from a tornado in Kansas.

Yeah. We all know how concerned he is about people dying in natural disasters. Ask all the folks from the ice storm earlier this year. I don’t think he ever went to one of the states affected let alone fly over one of them during that period. He did go look at North Dakota after the flooding, IIRC.

Blanco’s decision re NO on Posse Comitatus and her telecon with the DNC & Dean/McCauliffe, etc. really paid off. I wonder if the people of this nation will ever get it....sacrifice thousands in Viet Nam, Cambodia, Bosnia, even our own states like Louisiana, to gain and hold power. I can just hear them over Glenlivit, laughing, “Must suck to be those idiots.”
