Just renewed mine last month.

It took me a whole 20 minutes. Damn lines.

You are very fortunate.

I can't wait to trade mine for a Georgia license.

I’m going to be down at DMV first thing tomorrow morning to get this straightened out. I’ve already got all my “points” (birth cert., SSN, passport, property tax bill, etc.) assembled — even though I shouldn’t need them, considering I had to do this already for the first digital license...

Virginia another state that you better not let expire.
If you go in with a ‘dead’ license, it is like you never existed and you go to the back of the class and need full proof etc, really a pain BUT like an earlier person said ‘Do we really need a ‘nanny state’ to tell us when our documents expire?

What if I don’t have a NJ license?

Just tell them you're from Mexico, and they will send you one with whatever name you want on it.

You are now Fernando Valenzuela. You had 21 wins with the Dodgers two years before you were born.

Even tho Michigan sucks big time, they send you a form for car license and drivers license at the same time....The last time I was able to renew by mail...Just give them the check and they are fine...

Doesn't it just piss you off that you need all that doc, and Zero gets away with having no audit trail.

When I got my first NJ digital license, I was very glad I'm a pack rat.

My licenses that I had in Maryland and Wisconsin expired on my birthday after eight years or so, so I would casually check it a month before my born-on date every few years. I hope you don’t have to wait long to get it taken care of.

Got it taken care of this morning. Instead of Newton (my original plan), I went to Oakland (Bergen Co.) -- just in case "something happened," I have relatives in surrounding towns who could give me a lift. I got there 20 minutes before opening, and only 4 people were in front of me.

I made sure to say "Good morning!" with a smile to each person I had to deal with -- I've discovered that such a simple action often prevents bad things from happening in interactions with people. I was in and out in 10 minutes.

Now I'm passing along some info I did NOT know, regarding the points IDs:
1. "US passport, current or expired" only counts if the expiration is less than 3 years. The woman wouldn't take it.
2. She wouldn't accept the Social Security card because it was laminated!

Fortunately, I expected SNAFUs, so I brought overkill -- I had 17 points' worth of ID, rather than the required 6.

I do have to go to Newton MV on Monday. When they did my renewal in 2008 they forgot to put my street address on my license. It only has the PO Box.

Well now the Post Office wants to see a street address ID for verification on your PO Boxes and I do not have one. It is always something...

BTW, I live in a small town where if you are within a certain mile radius of the Post Office, you have to have a PO Box they do not deliver your mail. So if I do not get this taken care of on Monday you have no mail.

I know...way to wait til the last minute to take care of it. ha ha ha
