It remains of concern (a) that the author is a Soros-connected advocate of legalizing Physician Assisted Suicide (which Soros and his politics-manipulating fortune are supporting); (b) the Administration includes other PAS advocates such as the death-doctor brother of the President's chief of staff; (c) Obama has included among his "czars" a series of crackpots including those who openly advocate "un-developing" the planet and depopulating the planet, by fiat if necessary; (d) Obama's support of even late-term abortions and opposing laws to prevent killing partially-born babies; (e) the administration's massive "health reform" bill includes similar death counseling at the same time their panels can simply disapprove needed care; (f) coupled with Obama's reinstatement of the book -- it is his administration -- his appointees are defending it on TV (even though Duckworth came across like a shill and an idiot) -- the buck stops with him). And (g) the book is not only posted online but is printed and passed out at VA clinics this very day.

This is not just a "bureaucratic SNAFU" (although I agree that on the whole government is institutionally dumb as a stump). While the idea of providing end-of-life and living will information, etc., led to a legitimate effort during Bush's term to produce the book, once the Bush people saw what VA actually produced, they properly withdrew it. (VA has a long and storied history as a screw-up agency.) Obama people reinstated it in the context of a number of similar policies they are advocating.

All this is in keeping with euthenasia and eugenics philosophies that have a very clear lineage, not just debating-society issues of "social engineering" and making sure that neither of Obama's daughters are (in his words) "punished" with a baby, but pointblank evil (such as Hitler's showers and ovens, Stalin's pogroms, Chinese Communist population control policies which have not been confined to limiting births). The last thing a decent America should open the door to are brigades of Obamanist bureaucrats sitting down with elderly, wounded and otherwise suffering Veterans (or anybody for that matter) and during their time of greatest need and vulnerability ushering them into "death counseling" with the Hemlock Society (a front for which death-doctor Pearlman includes as a resource in the VA book).

Just as Liar-in-Chief Obama did know what "Rev. Wrong" was talking about all those years, so Obama is complicitous in this issue as well. Followed by fake-hero Duckworth -- Obama's appointee, former Blogo shill, known to be a bigmouth with big ambitions -- obfuscating about it.

I was behind a Vet the other day who had a t-shirt on that had the Marine emblem on it and it said: "It's not that we must win, it's that they must lose". Loved it. Sounds similar to what you wrote.

You might want to reread the article. This book was produced during the clinton presidency and introduced in 1997.
