I knew I saw that sign somewhere...on the 101 between Exeter and Epping—and why exactly did that section of road need “improvement” anyway, when the Spaulding is what REALLY needs fixing, including the bridge!!!!

Same thing on Rt 122 in Amherst & Hollis. It probably did not need to be paved and repainted for 5-10 years.
However, they had to use the money for state roads only.
The only people benefitting fromthis stimulus in NH is that guy Audley that gets all the state highway contracts.

That sign is everywhere - on I-93, along Route 101, and on 393 in Concord. And every section of road being worked on could have lasted another five years.

It's like the Mass Turnpike - they pave the same friggin' section of road every two years (whether it's needed or not) because it creates "good jobs at good wages" for Turnpike hacks, state "inspectors" who never seem to inspect anything, and "assigned detail" police officers in the last year of duty working triple overtime so that they can retire at 150% of their normal pensions. Welcome to the public sector, America.
