Here is video of a Scottish Official trying to justify the release of the Pan Am 103 Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi. Scotland has allowed him out of prison to return home to Libya to die. He is dying from Prostate Cancer.
The official said that the bomber must by shown "compassion," and al-Megrahi's crime is no reason to not show him compassion.
Obviously, this is a travesty of justice. He snuffed out the lives of 270 people without any compassion for them or their families. He was actually shown "compassion" in not receiving the death penalty that he deserved. Justice would demand that he serve his "life sentence," which should mean that he die in prison. . . . I thought life in prison was compassion? As compared to sharia law.
I dunno. I think dying gradually from prostate cancer is more justice than being ‘offed’ immediately in an execution. Like the old saying ‘hanging’s too good for him’.

Well, that's a second choice behind "eaten by a starving pig". Hmmm, if we airdrop the starving pig at the same time... Of course the pig will need a parachute (no reason to kill him with the fall).
I don’t approve of torturing this terrorist thug, but neither do I think he should get any special treatment or consideration at all. Let him die, alone, in the tiny prison cell he deserves.

That's right, show him the same "compassion" he showed the people on the flight.
‘Compassion’ is not a mathematical equation. Either you show it, if you think e.g. your religion compells you to do so, or you don’t. Too bad if this is not a popular sentiment. It’s simply my (Christian) interpretation of the term. Sadly the Brits didn’t just hang the bastard upon conviction, though. A moot point, now.
The last reference I heard to “Scottish law” was from Senator Spector during the Clinton impeachment hearings.
Let’s compromise and cushion his landing just enough to leave him mangled and terrified but still conscious for the pig. :)
