David Nelson, of the Leader Telegram, wrote a very telling piece on how irrational and wrong the left is about Governor Palin. He briefly touched on Governor Palins successes as governor of Alaska but his point is clearly made.
Why does the left have such a preoccupation with bashing Sarah Palin? What is it about her that frightens them so?
A recent column by Gene Lyons is a case in point. Most of his article came from MSNBC, which has the same credibility in evaluating a conservative as Rush Limbaugh has in giving a reasoned, rational evaluation of Obama.
Sarah Palin’s disturbing habit of TELLING THE TRUTH is what drives liberals to hysteria.

All the left has is lies and personal insults. I heard Murtha on the news this morning saying that he doesn’t think there will be a health care bill this year, and maybe not even next year. He said that everyone in the house is telling Pelosi not to push this thing through. The dems are seeing their numbers drop, seeing 0bama’s approval and job performance rating drop, and they are getting really, really scared. 2010 is just around the corner, and none of the dems want to be seen as pushing unpopular stuff like socialized medicine, amnesty for illegals, and cap and tax through without republican cover. As long as the republicans hold firm, and refuse to be suckered, the dems will back down, especially if both NJ and VA elect republican governors by a landslide, which looks very possible, as the republican candidates are leading by double digits in both states. Toomey is now leading Spectar by 11 points in the last polls I saw, so you know he’s scared to death of losing power.
Having said that, my estimation of her has risen since her resignation. It is in part the pleasure I'm getting from seeing those who so hated her, and who thought she was done as a political figure, getting even angrier at her now that she isn't just going away and shutting up like a good Republican is supposed to do.
Palin is doing her own thing, exercising her rights and being an outspoken, independent woman, and that's a large part of her appeal to men like me who want to see genuinely different points of view out there. She's not there yet, as far as I can see, but she's going in the right direction in terms of establishing a beachhead for people who get no respect from the MSM.
What I think REALLY ticks off her opponents is that she is the embodiment of the LIBERAL idea of a superwoman--she's an elected official, she's on record as fighting corruption, AND she's a wife and mom AND she's hot--and above all she has that "moral unassailability" the libs gave to people like a certain Gold Star Mom--she's BEEN THERE ("there" being that place where political ideas meet reality) in that she has been in a position to make a hard choice regarding abortion, and she CHOSE to bring up a child with a birth defect.
THAT is her unpardonable sin, for which the libs will never forgive her--she IS the face of abortion in America, someone whose life would be made far easier had she chosen abortion...and she made the "wrong" choice in their view...BUT they can't attack her for it without looking like ghouls (which they are, so that doesn't stop them).
Palin is a unique figure in our cultural history, and I hope she continues to develop as an activist.
When did that snake crawl out from under his rock?
Gene Lyons is a liberal columnist in Arkansas who couldn't kiss the Clintons butt often enough. He was one of the 'journalist' who tried to trash Ken Starr just like they are trying to do to Sarah Palin. I wouldn't believe anything he wrote/said, period.
Gene Lyons is a former general editor of Newsweek and, with Joe Conason, of "The Hunting of the President: The TenYear Campaign to Destroy Bill and Hillary Clinton."
Lyons' 1996 book Fools for Scandal: How the Media Invented Whitewater.
Gene Lyons discusses the demonization of Iran's powerless president, the state of their democracy compared to the neighbors, Bushs lifelong hostility to learning, the abject ignorance and gullibility of the American population and the fact that Iranians are human individuals.
"George W. Bush, a synthetic cowboy who dropped the "rancher" pose the minute he left the White House. "
Gene Lyons in Salon, July 16, 2009.
I didn't know this...
"Mika Brzezinski (MSNBC), the daughter of former Carter administration national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski"
