The Duping of America – Obamacare

Quite often a President, or the leading party (if they are not the same), may push for some initiative that encounters serious opposition. That is how a free government is meant to work. Such is the beauty of democracy that it allows for a healthy debate and eventually a more amenable bill is hammered out and passed. President Obama, like his predecessors, is also encountering some rough waters just as he thought there would be smooth sailing since his Democrats command a comfortable majority in both houses of Congress. The opposition, however, is far more vocal on the streets than it is within the hallowed chambers of the US Capitol.

The President, as well as leading Democrat Senators and Representatives, are covering the length and breadth of this country in an effort to convince the likes of you and me that H.R. 3200 - Obama's Healthcare Bill - is a serious, efficient, compassionate, sensible, effort at healthcare reform. I would have absolutely no problem with that, provided their statements were based on truths, rather than deliberate lies and total ignorance of the Bill they are trying to ram down our throats. If H.R. 3200 is so good (and how would Obama or his Dems know it, since they've acknowledged not having read it?), why the desperately thuggish tactics of union enforcers and hired hands to spread terror among those who dare question it?!?!?

[...]Rasmussen now reports that elderly folks over 65 are against Obamacare by 56 percent to 39 percent. That's a bad number for Democrats who rely on seniors to maintain their governing coalition. Incidentally, polls also show that about 75 percent of Americans are satisfied with their health-care services, while 80 percent to 90 percent are happy with the whole U.S. health-care system.
