May God bless and comfort all those who love him.
Ditto the gratitude and the reasons for it. Well said.
Please keep the family of Capt Matthew Freeman in your prayers through this most difficult time. They are going to need all the love and support we can offer them. It's a simple thing to ask for a family that has lost such a treasure.
I certainly shall, and all of those other military families who have lost their loved ones - our heroes. God bless them all.
Welcome Home Captain.
These heroes do not ask that we die, or even that we fight. They ask only that we be worthy of fighting and dying for.
In this, we as a nation have failed.
While they live in sand with the constant danger of being blown up or maimed, we whine for more free goodies from the government. In earlier wars, the civilian population “kept the home fires burning”, they rationed, they got behind the war effort. In the long war, the civilian populace has gone to the mall.
Remember the movie “Saving Private Ryan”, in which the Captain played by Tom Hanks is mortally wounded. He says to the Private his unit just found and saved, “Hey Ryan...” and Ryan turns to him. “Earn it”.
We haven’t. We are unworthy of these young Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen.
Beautiful...your words brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for the report. Captain Edwards is home and our prayers are with his family and all whose life he touched. God Bless the PGR and keep them safe.
