I understand that some people hunt with pistols of various kinds. A rifle seems to be more logical and humane.

(For the record, I am not a hunter. It’s difficult for hunted meat to be deemed “kosher” and hunting for sport has been frowned upon for Jews (not others) since the time of Esau.)

The revolver in question was specifically designed for long range target shooting (sometimes as far as 1000 yards) and hunting. Hunting with handguns is a specialized sport, one that requires different skill sets than bow hunting, or rifle or shotgun hunting. In the past, I've hunted rabbit and squirrel with a .22 pistol, and gone deer hunting with a .41Mag. In the past, I've also loaned my .44Mag Ruger Redhawk (along with some 300gr handloads) to my neighbor, who was going bow hunting for bear.

I'm Jewish as well, though I don't keep kosher, and while I don't hunt anymore, I have no problems with eating wild game. My issues with hunting are quite simple. I'd rather buy a steak at the local market than clean a deer.
