The same day the WH Press Secretary dismissed protests as "Astroturfing," I received this email from MoveOn, asking me to call Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor:
Based upon my math, I am not aware that Republicans have sufficient numbers to hold anything hostage in the Senate. After all, it is Target #60 Sen. Lincoln who mentioned last week that she and her colleagues on the Senate Finance Committee have been "thorough and taken our time."
Republicans also do not have sufficient numbers to "obstruct" health care in the Senate, especially in light of the recent pronouncement by Sen. Chuck Schumer that he would use reconciliation and its simple majority to pass it.
I believe MoveOn may be engaged in spreading rumors about what Republicans are capable of doing in the United States Senate with regard to health care reform.
I believe I shall turn informer and report this to the White House, per their request.
