This was not a spontaneous reaction. They had a few days to plan. “Grassroots” has nothing to do with it. It doesn’t mean the same thing as “spontaneous.”

What this indicates to me is the grassroots folks are getting better organized and getting away from that carnival atmosphere they were emulating until very recently.
Lloyd Doggett is Texas’ own Arlen Specter. Completely without principle and like the California dirt bags, he is from Travis County (Austin) the only county in Texas that is as full of witless liberals as the California Bay Area (Berkley, etc.)
The only advantage Texans living in Austin have on election day is being able to decide who to vote for — whoever is running against Doggett.
Of course it wasn’t spontaneous. The critter’s Townhall meeting was planned and PEOPLE went. It’s just that the people that went didn’t like or agree with what he’s doing. Like most politicians, he’d rather be idolized than castigated. The minute he tastes strong opposition from the PEOPLE, he screams that it’s a plot.
P.S. I only used the term “Grassroots” because it was in the title.

Living outside of our country, I did not like what I saw with the grassroots folks. They can argue this, but it was not a real serious movement until maybe now…if yet.
Just look at photos from the past. Everyone is having a wonderful time laughing and carrying on to include taking their children with them.

Your right about that. But IMO, the gleefulness of the first Tea Parties was because folks were happily surprised at the size of the turnouts. Happy that so many others saw things the same way.
These Town Hall protests are good, but Sept 12 may be what will make the critters really pay attention.
