Here is video of Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver Terrell Owens earlier this week saying that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is wrong to impose a four-game suspension on Michael Vick at the beginning of this season. Goodell said Vick could return to the NFL after serving 23-months in prison on dogfighting charges.

Owens said it was "ridiculous" to impose such a suspension after a guy has served two years in prison. The reporter quotes Owens as having said that Commissioner Roger Goodell should "go and sit in jail for 23 months." . . . . (Watch Video)

What a shame Vick only got 23 months. Ten years would have been a more fitting sentence.

Why? Did Goodell get convicted of dog fighting?

Big whoopie doo 4 games! Vick is super fortunate he is not rotting in jail any longer and also that he has a chance to play again in the NFL. Don’t blame the commish...it’s all in Vicks court how he chooses to play it!

Oh for goodness sakes, they were DOGS. Yes it is cruel and horrid, but 2 years and 100million is more than enough punishment.

Stop acting like a whacked-out PETA fanatic.

I spend a lot of time on the Dallas Cowboys message board and there's been a running battle on whether the Cowboys should have cut TO.

Because of the extra publicity anything that has to do with the Cowboys draws, I can just imagine what a media circus it would be if he'd made these comments while still wearing the star.

One nice thing this year is that Phillips has gotten rid of the big mouths and distractions. TO, Ellis, Tank Johnson and Pacman are all gone. It's been an incredibly nice off season to be a Cowboys fan. Have fun, Buffalo.

BTW, I don't have anything against TO. He's never been arrested and if he could control his emotions would be a heck of an asset to any team.

If he had been running his operation entirely in state he probably would have gotten probation. Running a multi-state illegal operation that brings in the Feds isn't a great idea, although you run into a much better class of criminal in the Federal prisons.

I'd also mention that advertising your felonies on the internet might not be a wise thing to do.

I agree. I always tried to give T.O. the benefit of he doubt because I do believe he is a great player, but, when I read this headline, I must confess to feeling relieved that his statements are no longer attributed to the entire Cowboy organization.

> Oh for goodness sakes, they were DOGS.

So much the worse. His crimes against dogs betray the antient pact between the human and canine species.

If the laws permitted it he should have been flogged around the fleet, forty-lashes-save-one with a cat-o’nine-tails. And then ten years hard labor — long enough to ponder the severity of his crime.

> Yes it is cruel and horrid, but 2 years and 100million is more than enough punishment.

Says you. I happen to disagree: he got off far too cheaply. Money means nothing to him, and two-years-less-a-month is a trifle compared to the sick severity of his crime.

> Stop acting like a whacked-out PETA fanatic.

Stop acting like a dog-abuse apologist.

I am actually on the side of Vick on this one.

He got caught and DID screem racism or how ‘the man’ was puttin ‘ him down.

He admitted what he did, accepted guilt, didnt fight it out in a ridiculous court battle, and then served his time.

It is over- he paid his debt.

Why the four game suspension? Is that what dog fighting gets you? 4 games? That’s all?

It was done and over with. The NFL should have left it alone once they re-instated him.

AND...

TO should have not openeind his mouth about it (I am from Buffalo and I HOPE TO does some good here too)

THe reason being, and I have discussed this with some friends that it seemed stupid, but I think it was more symbolic than anything. It keeps peta happy, and it shows who is in control!

I heard Michael Vick was trying to get into a fight with Snoop Dog. I wonder if it’s true of if it’s just another internet hoax.

Everybody that complains about this suspension misses two important things:
1 - part of what Vick pleaded to was being involved in gambling, the NFL doesn’t even let legal gambling advertise during their games
2 - Vick lied to Goodell’s face, when it all started going down Vick told him none of it was true

So yes Goodell decided to throw in some extra punishment.
