Sarah Palin: A Leader Without A Party
American Thinker ^ | 07-31-09 | Stuart Williamson

The Democrats -- and the Republicans too -- may find the next stage of Sarah Palin's public career uncomfortable.

True to form, Sarah Palin, her Governorship behind her, clearly and forthrightly declared her intent: to take up arms against the forces dedicated to tearing down our Constitution, destroying our principles of government, disparaging our history of defense of democracy and free enterprise, weakening our military, and saddling generations to come with oppressive debt and entitlement programs. She did so in the same inspirational, forceful manner that won her immediate and enthusiastic acclaim when she joined John McCain on the Republican ticket in ‘08.

It’s a trend. I’m a follower without a party.

Love her or hate her, she is the antithesis of organized politics.

The only 2 already established parties besides the rinos that Palin could associate with would be the Libertarian or the Constitution. The Libertarians would have to (1) change their pro-choice plank to something like pro-life (RILOM: rape, incest, life of mother), and (2) change their anti-foreign involvement plank to something like “high or low level military offensive actions” as approved by Congress either as a declaration of war or a specific campaign of reprisal.

Number 2 would be the same for the CP. They’d also have to carefully go over their entire platform to ensure that their 1st amendment support for religion appeals to all denominations.

She could also form a new party.

We do need someone who will bring the rampant spending to a grinding halt, who will reverse socialism to any extent possible, and who will support all God-given rights.

I am convinced that anyone who runs as an independent candidate - without party affiliation - stands an excellent chance of being elected in 2010 with this platform:
1. One term and out ( and mean it);
2. Half the Congressional salary goes back to the people of the state;
3. NO LOBBYISTS; and
4. Read before voting.

“Maybe we can form a party that Sarah would be proud to lead.....”

I think we already have a party. It is just not organized yet. It goes by names like “The TEA party” or The 9/12 Project and maybe a few others. I think these can be organized into a viable national conservative / libertarian party pretty darned easy.
Then we nominate Sarah Palin and a few others to run and see what we can do.
Ya Betcha

Tea Party... kudos Tupelo. A very obvious and viable thought that no one has yet seemed to connect the dots to form.

We need a logo... would be great to retake the rainbow (God’s sign of promise) from the Gay community...

Fine.

Look where parties have brought us, so far.

Maybe she just needs to establish a forum and say, ‘Here’s what I stand for and I am not going to sell out to the highest bidder just to campaign in the U.S.’

THAT boat will be big enough AND ‘seaworthy’ enough to save everyone who’s currently marooned in one or the other of the by now intellectually exhausted, ideologically compromised and discredited ‘parties’.

If “O” can force himself into public notice/acceptance with the personal, professional and ethical baggage he carried,…and without any of the experience, credentials or name recognition of a Sarah Palin… then, Governor Palin can do as well or better than HE did!.

Besides, who in this country does NOT presently feel shamed and betrayed by the people they have elected to office?

Maybe we can return to the grass roots process of electing representatives which the founding fathers envisioned for us.

In their current forms, I wouldn't want to belong to either the demonrat or republican party. They may someday be worthy again, but what will it take for either to receive the political exorcism that might make them so? A threat from a third party would be a good start.

And that’s exactly how we’re going to split - not down the middle, I hope. Count me in the love-her camp.

True enough. I just tried to keep it simple. Voters attention span is that of a flash bulb.
