Fox Needs to Drop Family Guy

Family Guy is an animated sitcom that airs on the Fox Network. I am guilty of watching this show. So, before any Liberal thinks this is another Conservative bashing a show he has never seen, SHUT UP. I will admit the while show makes me laugh, there are more times than I can count when I am offended by the bigoted content of the show. That is why I have stopped watching the show since its infamous time travel episode where Brian the Dog and the Baby Stewie went back in time to Nazi Germany. On top of that, the show has featured countless historical inaccuracies.

First off, after arriving in Nazi Germany, in 1938, Brian tells Stewie that Germany is close to building WMDs. To that, Stewie says, “Isn’t America doing something to stop them…” Brian replies “No” and when Stewie asks, Why, Brian explains that“…maybe because they don’t have any oil…”

That is a cheap shot on several different levels and, even worse, historically inaccurate. In 1938 the U.S. was marred in the Great Depression, which was extended by the incompetent Roosevelt policies of “New Deal.” (The merits of Mr. Roosevelt will be explored in another entry.) That year, the U.S. had already begun the unofficial support of PM Winston Churchill’s efforts against Nazi Germany, which was later formalized with the “Lend Lease Act,” which was passed in March 1941). The stupid dog Brian, not to be confused with the old animated series “Two Stupid Dogs,” fails to mention that the U.S. ended up cleaning Nazi Germany’s clock and how America was key to the liberation of Europe. If not for U.S. Military support, intelligence reports show that the British Empire would have fallen by spring, 1942.

Second, there is a scene where Bran, Stewie and the other guy beat up Nazi SS officers and take their uniforms. Stewie found a McCain-Palin button under a lapel. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I was sick to my stomach when I saw that. How dare Seth McFarland – the one of the show’s writers insinuate that Sen. John McCain or former Vice Presidential candidate and Gov. Sarah Palin would have any connection to Naziss what so ever.

Imagine the outrage if I shopped around a photo with President Barack Obama wearing a Soviet flag on his lapel? The outcry would come from all corners and call me everything from a racist to a NaziI. Yet, when a liberal does it it’s just okay.

Family Guy is a show written by a group of anti-Judeo Christian bigots. They have done episodes that mock those who have any type of faith. Sadly, the show glorifies just about everything that is wrong in America.

Lastly, the show should be canned because it’s not even funny!

There are many worse examples of this garbage in that show. But I’ve only watched a few seconds of it. Could never stand it.

It’s not funny, yet it makes him laugh.

Family Guy used to be funny, when it was on it’s first run. Once they brought it back, they tossed out the comedy for an endless string of conservative and Republican bashing “jokes”. Yawn...

I’ve never laughed at a Family Guy episode, mostly because it’s written by Manatees taking idead balls and throwing them into a joke hopper. This leads to jokes that are not plot-driven and usually make no sense.

as long as family guy is raking in the advertising dollars, you won’t see it removed.

I grew up on Disney and Lance animations. That spoiled me to inferior product, aside the content.

Haven’t been able to watch this stuff starting with Hanna-Barbera (sp).

I always suspected there was a huge tank of manatees involved in the writing of those jokes that have nothing to do with the plot and make no sense.

Family Guy is an American animated television series about a dysfunctional family in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island.

It was created by Seth MacFarlane for Fox Broadcasting Company in 1999.

The show uses frequent "cutaway gags" — jokes in the form of tangential vignettes that do not advance the story. Family Guy was canceled once in 2000, and again in 2002, but strong DVD sales and the large viewership of reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim convinced FOX to resume the show in 2005.

It is the first canceled show to be resurrected based on DVD sales.

family guys feels like strings of inside jokes after another. I don’t get any the jokes. Wierd characters pops in and out and do their music routine or jokes. It wasn’t funny

Only thing I liked about it was Stewie, the evil baby

I hope not.

During the Star Wars Parody, the “Bush/Cheney” sticker on the back of the Imperial Destroyer made me laugh out loud.

People need to get a grip. It’s satire. They make fun of liberals, too; albeit not quite as much as South Park.

There are several reasons for canceling a cartoon, but "historical inaccuracy" is not one of them.

It's a cartoon, not a history lesson.

That being said, I agree--it should be canceled.
