How insane are the birthers? Ann Coulter thinks they're a bunch of cranks and said so on Fox News. Of course she blames it all on the liberal media rather than on the nuts who are still pushing it, because it can't be the fault of those on the right, liberals must be to blame for everything somehow. Video below the fold:
And naturally, the Freepers are losing their minds over Coulter's apostasy.
"Coulter has gone over to the dark side. Her dark roots are showing."
"Anne, you are losing it girl. In fact, I think you have already. There would be No issue if zero would show his Birth Certificate. Until then, stop drinking the dims koolaide"

Except one guy who is convinced that Ann is so brilliant she's playing a strategic game with the issue:
"Ann is a strategist. You don't play your Spades first in a game of Spades. This birth certificate isssue is our Ace of Spades card. Sooner or later, the truth is going to come out. But it makes no sense to play it now, and I say this as someone who truly believes that Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen."
This is really becoming quite amusing to watch.
As opposed to how some of us played Coulter’s remarks?
One thing you have to remember about Coulter. Last year, she said she would support Hillary over McCain. McCain is a loser, but Hillary?
Is Coulter becoming a younger horizontally challenged version of Helen Thomas?

If the limits of his journalistic abilities are to post Freeper comments I don't think we have to worry about anyone reading them.
Besides, she might just be distancing herself to give birthers more credibility in the greater public as she has always been a lightning rod of controversy.
Or maybe she's just tired of being a lightning rod.

If ANYBODY has earned the benefit of the doubt it should be Anne. But respectfully disagreeing with her was beyond most posters. The lynch mob is on perpetual hair trigger. It’s one of the worst aspects of FR circa 2009. It didn’t use to be so deranged.
What is amusing to watch is the media making excuses for not vetting the Obama in the first place.
There are other things bsides the birth certificate. His Occidental records, Who paid for Harvard Bill Ayres, Frank Davis, they ignore all of this.
I dont know what is with Coulter, It’s her business what she chooses to believe,I believe personally that Obama is legitimate but the father’s name on the certificate is different than what we are led to believe.
It really doesnt matter what we choose to believe, the fact is that Lawyers are being paid to keep it from view. There has to be a reason. No one pays lawyers for doing nothing.

After some time, I now wonder if the ‘birthers’ have something. Before this time I have dismissed the arguments as ridiculous.
But Obama has not settled the matter; he is acting Hussein-like; as Saddam did with the WMD’s. Both could save a lot of trouble by just coming clean and satisfying the inspectors.
I disagree with Ann’s position on this but I’m not about to demonize her here.
From what she’s seen, this is the conclusion she’s drawn and she is comfortable in her views.
I however see a long string of inconsistencies that require further investigation regardless of what conclusions are reached at the end of that investigation.
But Ann is pretty solid on almost every issue (like 99.9%) so rather than tossing her overboard, I’ll adhere to Reagan’s 11th commandment instead.
And what's was up with the Passport-Gate? ...Joe Biden run passport office was breached and Obamah's records were accessed in 2008. ...subsequent, the only witness was murdered while sitting in their car.
Considering how Big Media went after George Bush's kindegarten records, they are complicit in hiding any record that would disparage the candidate they helped elect.
I am disappointed in Ann. All we ask for is the occupant of the WH provide proof that he fulfills a constitutional requirement to be its legitimate occupant.
I wish the media people from the right, like Coulter, would show those questioning the birth certificate why they are wrong. When she writes a book, I assume she does her own research. Why is this same person making definitive statements based upon other media sources?
Or, maybe this entire thing proves an old saying, “if you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth.”
