Fukino says she has “seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record.”
Tellingly and coyly, she does not say whether this is a Hawaiian birth certificate. Her carefully chosen words allow for Hawaii keeping a certificate issued by some other government (such as Kenya’s) in its vault.
On numerous occasions I’ve seen the media put words she didn’t say into this official’s mouth, to the effect that this is a Hawaiian certificate. Beware of this.
