Democratic Leadership Vs. the Blue Dogs
The Provocateur ^ | 07/24/2009 | Mike Volpe

I think most of us expected for Republicans to battle it out ideological in the aftermath of their stunning defeat in 2008. I'd be hard pressed to imagine that anyone would have thought that there would be a political civil war not six months into the new administration. Though, to be fair, Dick Morris predicted just such a problem when he analyzed the make up of the Democratic party.

Glad the Blue Dogs are ripping the radical leftists a new one on this issue. They know, if they value their jobs, that they have to.

Here is a link to the full House Democrat Health Care Plan in PDF. In Section 1233 E & F, pages 426-433, you find the part about mandatory end-of-life counseling for anyone over 65 years of age.

Also, here's a large image of the Democratic (Obama) Health Plan chart-another Obama empty promise. This is the one the House democrats are censuring. Email these links or the image to everyone you know.

Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

I am kind of surprised they haven’t been able to buy off the so-called “blue dogs”.

This was predictable; it's been happening in Illinois since the Dems took over the governor spot, along with both houses of the legislature.

If the Republicans can field reasonable candidates, they take the House back in 2010. No Jack Ryans, no George Ryans, no John McCains ...

Oh...they are trying. My guess is that they 1st try to buy them off, 2nd marginalize them, 3rd bad mouth them, 4th threaten them and 5th blackmail them. Any they can...but it apparently isn’t working.

I am surprised its not working.

Obama ratings are dropping. I think there is some desperation in the party for some kind of victory.

It looks like they might not get a victory. We should pray and fight of course.

I disagreed, I don’t know if it was with you, but I said that the blue dogs would stand up. I believe there was a lot of cynicism here but so far they are living up to their ideology. Maybe everyone on free republic should admit they were wrong when this bill gets killed for good.

They just haven't settled on the price yet. Sad thing is too many Republicans have a price too.

I admit that I am at a loss to explain how the blue dogs have contrived to stay steadfast for so long because I believe the Democrat party is in virtual thrall to George Soros because he controls virtually all the money flowing into the party. He does that through a welter of 527s and such groups and he also controls the Internet through MoveOn.org and Huffington which means he controls the communications as well as the finances. As I understand it, no blue dog Democrat can hope not to be opposed or to be funded if he crosses the party establishment. The blue dog risks being torn to pieces by the yellow dogs.

I don't think the jury is in a yet on whether this is truly a laudable uprising by blue dogs or merely a kabuki dance to give them cover for their ultimate capitulation. Right now it looks like the real thing.

What the point in the article that Dick Morris alone predicted squabbles among Democrats is absolutely silly. Many of us predicted that such fights are inevitable. One need only consider the lust for power which animates Democrats. Everyone is a God player and therefore he wants to play God with our lives. Other Democrats are convinced that they are similarly ordained and eventually there must be Stalin versus Trotsky warfare among these God players.

I sympathize with the Blue Dogs.

I was a conservative Democrat in Michigan for years.

It slowly dawned on me they not only didn't want to listen to me, they wanted me to like it.

Politics is always a mixed bag of compromise, but they want me to compromise while they taxed and taxed, spent and spent.

Then I realized I wasn't a Democrat anymore because they had moved the goal posts SO far to the left, that there was no right.

I remember in one meeting when we had a heated argument about taxes, I said that at least we lived in the greatest country in the world where people can discuss issues without fear.

I was told that we are NOT the greatest country in the world, several are better.

That was it. I walked and never looked back.

I am kind of surprised they haven’t been able to buy off the so-called “blue dogs”. -———————————— It’s still very early. There is a warehouse of money out there now available as a Grand Slush Fund to pay whatever it takes. This health care thing is a make or break for Obama. He has staked his presidency on it. There is no amount too large to spend to make this legislation happen. The end result will be a bill that’s not read, not complete and only a promise that concerns will be addressed. I think the only way to undo this mess will be the total failure of the economy and mass demonstrations and civil disobedience. There is no way that small business can absorb the demands on them via this legislation. And there will be too many surprises that are discovered after the bill passes, all contributing to a total meltdown of the economy.

The ‘buy-off’ is in the works. That is what is going on now.

By playing hard to get, they can claim that to their constitutants that they fought hard and brought back (insert pork) here to them.

Companies that will be harmed by Cap N Trade and ObamaCare are pumping money to the Blue Dogs. Angered by the indepence of the Blue Dogs, Moveon.org and even the DNC are running ads attacking the Blue Dogs. The Far Left wants to remind the Blue Dogs whose the boss.
