Progressives now say US Born requirement for Presidency should be abolished

by Eric Dondero

All of a sudden, the issue of concientious objecter Major Stefan Cook has thrust the Obama birth certificate issue into the national limelight. It’s moved from so-called “fringe” blogs and news websites such as World Net Daily, Free Republic, Gateway Pundit, Atlas Shrugs and Libertarian Republican, into the mainstream media. On Monday Fox News did a segment on it for their 5:00 pm News Hour. CNN’s Lou Dobbs covered the story yesterday. And even CBS and the LA Times have done articles on it.

And today, another Big Enchillada of the Liberal Media: National Public Radio.

Here’s the descriptive intro to the story, “Foreign Policy: Born in the USA”:

NPR.org, July 17, 2009 · The weirdly persistent belief held by many Americans that President Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States has been back in the news lately thanks to Major Stefan Cook, the “birther” soldier who was granted conscientious objector status because he refused to fight for a president he believes is illegitimate. There’s also a bill gathering some support in the House that would change election law to require candidates to prove their citizenship.

And then something rather odd happens. The NPR editorialist Joshua Keating takes an entirely new tact.

“But they will just respond that the constitution is a “living and breathing document” and our current era make such a requirement “archaic” so who cares what the text says.... their BS is unbelievable”

Yes, whenever the rule of law doesn’t suit them, they love to talk about the constitution being a “living breathing document,” but when the rule of law does happen to coincide with their desires, they are among its most vehement defenders.

"Put another way, is there one good reason why foreign-born governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jennifer Granholm can’t legally run for president but Mark Sanford and Sarah Palin can?"

Their job as a foreign-born citizen is to raise their natural-born children to love America enough to want to be president.

Or, they can just find a "wise Latina woman" whose richness of experience will sympathize with people who were born elsewhere, and she will nullify the clause in the Constitution when it comes before her.

Have you read this article? It is LONG but it is a fascinating read:

"HOW COULD STANLEY ANN DUNHAM HAVE DELIVERED BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA JR. IN AUGUST OF 1961 IN HONOLULU, WHEN OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON RECORDS SHOW HER 2680 MILES AWAY IN SEATTLE ATTENDING CLASSES THAT SAME MONTH?"

President Little? (aka President X?)
