Gov. Palin Set to Start Clearing the Decks

There are folks out there (like Examiner.com's George Copeland) suggesting that Sarah Palin may have resigned from office to set up a run for the presidency in 2012, not as a Republican, but as an independent candidate. While I tend to doubt that that will be her approach, the party mandarins have every reason to worry about what she might do to them. After all, the last time Sarah Palin resigned from a position, it was the beginning of an all-out assault on the Alaska GOP, which had betrayed the party's core principles with its corruption and cronyism. Following her resignation, her political career was widely pronounced dead at the scene, but in fact it was only the beginning of the political insurgency that would carry her to the governor's mansion. The past is no guarantee of the future, but there is certainly considerable reason to think that we might see history repeating itself here.

Right now, after a ten month assault by 'rat psychopaths and other members of the criminal element, she pulls 42% against Obama. I think she'll be in good shape by 2011.

This is the reason why the GOP Rino's haven't embraced her and the reason why conservatives love her! The lady knows how to 'clean house'!

She won’t run as an Independent, that is giving the Presidency to the Marxist. She will throw out the bastard RINOS in the GOP and start cleaning house. Let the RINOS form their own party.

And I don’t think that poll has escaped them; it probably frightens them.

A couple of no names have without source pushed the running as Independent to divide or spark problems for
Palin. Others for the same reason or wishful thinking
regurgitate this same bilge.

When Gov. Palin runs for an office, she wants to win.
That means Republican not Independent which always receives at least 2%

The main ones who want Sarah to run as an Independent are the ones who want Obama to have 4 more years in the White House. Sarah knows that running as an Independent is a lost cause. She won’t win. What has to be done is get rid of the garbage in the GOP. Let the ass clowns in the GOP form their own party, just like Rush said, throw them out and let’s take this party back

Newt Gingrich? You mean the guy who can’t control his own pecker and yesteryear’s news? Newt is a great strategist, but he’ll go nowhere as a candidate. I doubt that he could win statewide office in Georgia or even his old congressional seat.

I hope, for your sake, you are joking. Newt Gingrich isn’t going to win any primary.

Palin is well poised for Iowa. The only person who can bring down Palin is Palin herself.

The RINOS have their own party—they own what’s left of the Republican franchise. I can’t see Palin burning her energy and the money she is able to raise only to be shafted in the end by backroom skullduggery from the likes of Charlie Crist and his ilk.

As an indie, with liberals splitting the Dem/Repub vote, she could win even in some red states where as many as 40 percent could go her way.

More people identify themselves as conservative than any other designation. People generally like Sarah Palin. People generally despise political parties. The formula is there.

Surely there’s a more flattering picture of her to use - like the one of her on a motorcycle.

“frightens them” Oh no no no terrifies the wholly heck out of them! The sphincter factor is in full effect in the GOP over Palin, because in HER... WE have a candidate that represents OUR values, while the GOP leadership no longer does.

House cleaning is right! We are tired of cronyism in BOTH parties, and SICK of watching the rights of the people and of the States get eroded with every single vote, and every single RINO that comes along pandering to the left and OholyO.

They are scared to death because they know she will have nothing to do with it and she has OUR support backing HER, not them!
