The president has proclaimed that no one should doubt he and his allies and their ability to produce sweeping health care reform. Certainly, the president must put on that public face. Furthermore, the president is supremely confident and so I don't doubt that he believes that he will be able to pull this off. In reality, there continues to be more and more roadblocks. The most recent setback is this poll by WAPO showing the president's approval on health care slipping below 50%.

And you can be sure the the Post has exagerated support for Obamacare, so the real numbers must be below 40 percent.
When the Washington Post speaks ill of a Dem, be sure they got the OK to do so.
Calls to Congress are 10:1 or more against. This says that those who strongly oppose Obamacare greatly outnumber those who strongly support it. Which in turn says that the support iseven weaker than they want to admit.

Hillarycare was much more modest, and it couldn’t pass the smell test, either, even on ice. Unlike that debacle, however, there is no assurance at all that the US voting public will turn on the Democrat architects and put the majority of them out of office in 2010, as was done in 1994.
This is not pessimism, it is recognition that the elections in this country have been usurped and nullified by the actions of the loosely amalgamated collection of revolutionary cells known as “ACORN”. These people have been working since the days of Jimmy Carter to subvert and negate the vote by ballot in this country, until it has become almost as meaningless as an election in Iran in many districts.
WHY are the same retreads sent back to Congress term after term, retiring only in the gentle glow of their twilight years, if they are not carried out feet first?
Reports from the staffers when I call.
