How’s that unarmed protesting, wearing green, silent marching, victory gestures, etc. working for ‘em?

There is dissent amoung the Mullahs. Even the old ones. It would only take 1 military commander to switch and the rules of engagement would change.

Does that protect the protesters? NO Very dangerous situation, but the youth of Persia seem to be willing to risk it. Even some of the older Persians, and a few of the Police.

We shall see.

On Bastille Day. Maybe history will inspire them; probably not though. The youthful revolution will most likely be crushed, and perhaps one day will inspire some future generation.

The good news is that they have progressed from stoning.

Adversity employs great talents; prosperity renders them useless and carries the inept, the corrupted wealthy and the wicked to the top

May they bear in mind that virtue often contains the seeds of tyranny

May they bear in mind that it is neither gold nor even a multitude of arms that sustains a state but its morals

May each of them keep in his house, in a corner of this field, next to his workbench, next to his plow, his gun, his sword, and his bayonet

May they all be soldiers

May they bear in mind that in circumstances where deliberation is possible, the advice of old men is good but that in moments of crisis youth is generally better informed that its elders

“The good news is that they have progressed from stoning.”

I think that is reserved for the women and children.

According to the report all the 14 people are connected to "Jondollah", a militant Baluchi group

Jundallah is a terrorist group with ties to al-Qaida. The only reason the mullahs don't like them is because they're a Sunni organization. So what if terrorists are hanged? Can't say I feel sorry for them.

"He continued: " We can not confirm that these 13 actually are connected to Jondollah. In August 2008, Yaqub Mehrnehad, a well-known blogger and activist, was executed convicted of Moharebeh and connection with the Jondollah group. However, there were no prior indications of Mehrnehad being connected with "Jondollah" or taking part in any other militant group. He, in the same way as the 14 who are scheduled to be hanged tomorrow, was tried in a revolutionary court, closed to the public.""

Hopefully they're starting to realize that that stuff only works against governments controlled by decent people.

Hey, I have done that many times, unfortunately.

I cannot verify the accuracy of the source, no one can in Iran now. But I would give the benefit of the doubt to those who are protesting. They are on the ground close to the action and part of the culture. Persia is a very old nation. With a rich history. That much is much older than Islam.

Persians as a whole are a very smart people. Not sheeple.
