That is how they operate. They send off “ex”-employees to work for other companies, like software vendors and such, and these folks then leverage their position to improve their retained holdings at GS, and thus GS at large. It is how the company is structured. GS is not special in that regard - in fact, I don’t see anything wrong with that model specifically. It can be a good way to do business for everyone involved. Deceit and compulsion are two different things.

The problem is that such shenanigans are not isolated to the private sector - GS also sends unofficial emissaries into government employment, where they exploit control over public purse strings to the same end - what was harmless deceit is now harmful compulsion. This goes for defense contractors, other banks/investment firms, pharmaceutical companies, energy firms, etc. The sheeple think that government control over the market (FDA, etc) is for our protection. They think regulations are put in place for the common good, and that government spending and economic “stimulus” is done for the benefit of the nation. Hardly. Most government spending is just extortion on a massive scale. Most politicians and bureaucrats act to further their own interests - at taxpayer expense.

One of the great fictions of the 20th and 21st century is that enormous corporations are just itching for free markets and deregulation so they can “fleece us and control us”. Nothing could be more divorced from the truth - you can only control at the point of the gun, and this is made easiest if one can control the legal use of force that only government is endowed with. The most established and entrenched corporations want soft fascism and detest free markets. Socialism, communism, Marxism, Keynesianism, third-wayism and all other forms of collectivism all tend to fascism. That is the nature of power.

...politicians and bureaucrats act to further their own interests - at taxpayer expense.

The only way for citizens to regain control is to become the group with the largest bribe. We DO have the money - after all... we're just an "incentive" short.

Indeed...class warfare works both ways with the middle class caught in the crossfire. Marxists have always been for the destruction of the middle class and those at the very top are perfectly happy to see any prospective challenge or future competition nipped in the bud. Statists, globalists and corporate elitists have compelling mutual interests, some in the corporate world do mask themselves with the veneer of capitalism, but they're just as happy to see their competition regulated out of existence.

"Too much capitalism does not mean too many capitalists, but too few capitalists."
